Definitely DO NOT USE A US BROKER. Take the hit now and transfer your holding to a UK broker.

Here I am almost 2 years after date of death and still waiting on getting the IRS transfer certificate - all correspondence to them is ignored. After obtaining that I will still have to get a medallion signature gurantee and deal with etrade, who are completely useless. Its a nightmare.
