Hi everyone, more small wins for me.
I usually check all my figures (debts) on the weekend but didn't want to because I hadn't paid any extra this week. I told myself to behave and got it done this evening. It's not disheartening that it hasn't gone down, because it hasn't gone up either!
I went to 2 DIY shops yesterday and left almost empty handed because the stones I wanted were almost double the price I wanted to pay in both. I've decided they can wait til I see some at a reasonable price. I also walked away from far too expensive paint as its not urgent and I can see what odd bits I've got stored away first (just to tidy up the conservatory that nobody but me sees).
I say almost empty handed because I wanted soil for seed starting, couldn't get the one I wanted so decided to buy a small bag and mix it with some of last years that I've still got in pots in the conservatory. I spent £5 instead of £20.
The biggest win though is that tonight I collected food from Olio for the first time. I've donated items on there when decluttering, but always felt like I was stealing food from people more in need if I had food from there. There were loads of bags of salad and my tortoise is out of hibernation so I convinced myself nobody wanted out of date salad and I could get a bag for Trev. I think as long as I'm not greedy and I give it a good half hour from listing to let others choose first I can live with myself.
I've brought some logs in for my log burner for the cold nights coming, to stop myself being lazy and sticking the heating on because its cold dark and wet when I need to go outside for logs.
I hope everyone has had a lovely weekend and healthy dose of sunshine.Debts 04/01/25 01/09/25

Olio is for reducing waste, not a charity for "the needy", so if you are going to use what you collect, then just collect it, without guilt.Statement of Affairs (SOA) link: https://www.lemonfool.co.uk/financecalculators/soa.phpFor free, non-judgemental debt advice, try: Stepchange or National Debtline.
