Morning all
Writing to you from the 5.42 to Euston. I'm visiting mum this weekend so I can see her before her op.
Since I've been travelling there more often, I've used open return tickets for flexibility but for some reason they have gone from £129 to £176!! I used ticketysplit and got it down to £106 using advance singles.
I have overnight oats and a flask of coffee from home to keep me going (channelling my inner foxgloves)
Coming back tomorrow so will take snacks and coffee from mum's
Have a good one all

Hi Everyone,
I was on a long drive yesterday and wondering what the equivalent of a No Scales Victory (used in dieting/weightloss for the things to celebrate that are not about numbers on the scale) was in the debt busting world. I really need to start enjoying the small things now that I've paid a few chunks off and I'll just be plodding on from here.
So, retrospectively, this week I cleaned my make up brush! I usually just replace it every year.
I went to see friends and took snacks and breakfast as damage limitation as I knew I would be eating at least 2 meals out during the trip. In the past I would have just thought sod it I'm on holiday.
I feel pretty good about both those things, my mindset is slowly changing.
Have a lovely day everyone

@rachmac3 - welcome and they are great "victories", we've all found that by adding one small thing at a time before you know it it's snowballed these small actions have become the norm
@DawnW - Thanks my lovely friend, hope you're managing to take some time for yourself too

Morning "friend group" (I would say gang but I got laughed at by madam and friend the other day for using that expression!
) I've been mia this last week or so, not sure where time went, but it went!
Just popping on quickly to say hi.
@carrielovesfanta if you are coming down south, shall we organise to meet in London for a day? Msg meHope mum's op goes well x
@ziggy2407 as always you are a lovely inspiration. Keep doing you at your pace, you make the world a more lovely place to be in!
Welcome @rachmac3 your sig is very impressivelooks like you've made a big dent in the first couple of months of this year!
Today I have spent ages trying to work out the best savings/investments for our small savings (continue to remain debt free) I've worked it out now, a bit complicated as I save each month for yearly spends (i.e. birthday's, xmas, car etc), and we are stoozing for a couple of big expenses this year (have a 0% spending cc for a big holiday and replacement windows), so it's all a bit complicated. But I think I've worked it out and can now put this headache aside for a year!
Also today:
* Received £25 interest on an account.
* about to do a home body pump work out
* need to stop putting off doing some work for a presentation I have on Thursday
* make a chickpea stew
* make bean chilli soup, some wraps and a chocolate banana bread for lunches this week
* oh is decorating madam's bedroom
Ok that's all for now! Hope you all have a lovely Sunday x

Evening allUp early again to go to a market. Bought items for my business but nothing else except half a dozen duck eggs for OH.Walked the dog in the half light before we went. At least it is no longer pitch black at silly o'clock when we get up for market!Nice day again weather wise, so did some more tidying in the garden. Also watered the front garden pots and refilled the bird bath.2 loads of washing done and dried outside on the lineSorted the downstairs houseplants and seedlings - fed and watered them and moved some around. I will do the upstairs plants tomorrow (yes, I do have lots of plants, especially at this time of the year as I have so many seedlings
)
Used up stuff from the fridge for dinner, pasta with leftover tomato sauce (the rich tomato sauce recipe made with tinned tomatoes from Hugh F-W, as I had forgotten to get some on my home grown tomato sauce out of the freezer).Hope everyone has had a good day3 -
