Morning all, thanks for the start @Gers. It was a bit nippy first thing this morning but I don't think there was any frost and now the sun is out. Looking good for the day.
SM delivery arrived yesterday and I kept the subbed item in the end. Quick to put away, thanks to having just one freezer item and spaces in the newly cleaned/organised cupboards. I was somewhat miffed to find the snail invader is still hereso the afternoon was spent with yet more vacuuming but this time I've done all the edges of the carpet, not just the area where the snail trails were, and have also checked the patio door. I can't see any holes and the seal around the frame looks to be intact. I can't see anything this morning, fingers crossed. I don't mind snails - I think they're quite fascinating when they're outside - but I object to snail trails on the carpet. It's an uninvited guest and, as any self respecting gatecrasher should know, it will be evicted!
Today's plans - a walk to the PO to pay a couple of bags of loose change into my current account, next door to the stationers for a small notebook and then back home to tackle a slow draining bathroom basin. It's one of the jobs that DH used to do, so another newby task for me. Every day's a school day, they say.Tea tonight is pork steak in BBQ sauce, spicy wedges and either peas or mixed veg and, as it's Shrove Tuesday, I'm contemplating having pancakes at lunchtime.
@Gers - I was looking forward to the Agatha Christie programme and started to watch it but nodded off. I blame Sunday dinner and being cosy under a throw!
@Rosy - Good DGS has got his choice of high school.
@carolbee - Welcome back. I'll bet that's 6 weeks you'll remember for a long time to come.
@TA - I hope B's are on their best behaviour today!
Right, I think the bathroom will have warmed up by now so I'll have my shower and then crack on with the day. As ever, hugs if needed or wanted; enjoy the day and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10 -
Morning everyone
I lost yesterday to a migraine, the worst I've had for a long time and I had to miss work. It's still lingering this morning but I'll go in.
Little one is still very tired even though she is on the high calorie milk - she's going to school just for an hour each morning this week and then she has her first session with the play therapist on Friday afternoon. We had a nice chat on the phone yesterday afternoon.
I managed to get dads' music player sorted so I'll take that down tomorrow - thanks Gers for your advice to ask on the tech board.
Right I better get some jobs done before work.
Hope everyone has a good day x9 -
Morning all, another cold start to the day. I don't feel great this morning so I'll play today by ear. I will do an online food shop though as I now have Dad's list too. DGD is away on a school skiing trip so I'll have a look at the photos but it's difficult to tell who's who with all the skiing gear on, thankfully I do know the colour of her jacket and trousers !
Liver, bacon and onions for tea tonight with mash, looking forward to that.
Take care all, hugs to anyone in need.

Morning all, it’s been a few years! I use to use the OS forum all the time, but lost my way.I am about to become an empty nester and am struggling a bit. I’ve not been alone at home since the start of the first lockdown. So I thought I would do something I enjoy and return to the OS forum.I cook all my meals from scratch and grow lots of our own veggies.I love all the hints, tips and chat on the OS forum. Looking forward to getting to know you all again xx8

Just popping back in to send healing wishes to @dp1 and @Nanny. And welcome back to @FunkyFairy.
I've done my errands including posting a letter through a neighbour's door that Mr Postie had pushed through mine (it was clearly addressed so perhaps he needs to go to Specsavers) and have unblocked the bathroom basin. Yay. Now I'm off to make pancakes. Lemon juice and sugar is obligatory.Be kind to others and to yourself too.5 -
Afternoon all, nice and sunny here. I've been into town to change my library books and get some veg off the market.Welcome back @FunkyFairy.Glad you had a lovely time in Aus @carolbeeI've got some chicken breasts to cook later, from the butchers & already marinated in lemon and chilli. Thanks @YorksLass, we're all relieved that DGS got his place as he doesn't live as close to school as most of his friends but the high school is almost next door to his primary.Hope you feel better soon Nan and dp1, and you have news of the boiler soon TA.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'.
