You can't simply 'ignore' as you will have a Witness Statement to produce. Your court order with the hearing date will give you guidance as to when the WS needs to be submitted, often on the reverse. It won't give you an actual date for submission, but likely to say something like 'x days before the hearing date'. Make a note of that in your diary and make sure it is submitted by then.

Receieved discontinuance this morning! Nearly 4 years on from the date of the event!!!

I started the WS but thankfuly did not put any real work in yet, saves a job for next week
