Missed Payments on Credit File

I have a loan with a non high street lender and missed a payment in October which has sinxe lut me behind on my balance/payments. Since November I have paid the loan direct debit every month on time however, the company have kept reporting that I missed payment each month because of the original missed payment and because I'm in arrears. I also paid the arrears and then my normal direct debit this month and Feb still shows missed payment. Can I challenge this as it looks bad on my credit file having missed payments for the last 4 months when in reality I've made payments but just missed one in Oct.

Sounds right to me that they would mark you as being in arrears until you have caught up on the payments. Things should look ok going forward and any new creditor should be able to tell what happened when they look at your file.
And don't forget that as time goes by this will fade into the past and become increasingly less significant.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on Debt Free Wannabe, Old Style Money Saving and Pensions boards. But what you paid in November would have been regarded as October's payment (late) while missing the November one, and so on, so you effectively have kept missing payments rather than just doing so once.1
