Hey all,
I asking on behalf of my mid 20's separated son. He and his ex split quite quickly after their baby girl arrived and are now "co-parenting" (she is ~18 months old) he is hoping to have her stay with him 2,3 sometimes 4 nights a week. He works full time and so some of the week days he will need her to attend at a local registered child care provider.
My Q is; would he independently be eligible for 15 hours free child care that I've seen mention of? Or if his ex is already claiming this would he then not be able to? I'm not sure how it works.. 🤔
Thanks v. much for any advice

There can only be one account per child for tax free child care.
If the mother is already claiming then he cannot make a claim. There is only one 15 hours per week.
Mum could book with the provider ur son uses for the relevant days but has he checked that a local nursery will be able to have his child on an irregular basis- 2.3 sometimes 4 nights a week)?
Spaces are normally booked in advance on a regular basis.1 -
