Return Refused do I throw it away?

I bought an item from an Ebay seller which after a few days failed so I initiated a return for a refund.

I was emailed a prepaid return label  so I took the parcel to a post office and got proof of postage.

Three days later Ebay issued a refund to my credit card.

Today the postman delivered the parcel with a label stating we are unable to deliver the parcel due to delivery refused.

Can I throw the item in the bin?

I would contact the seller again, just point out that item has been returned and ask them to either arrange to collect it or issue a new label within 21 days, or otherwise you will dispose of it. Give them the opportunity though to acknowledge to themselves that refusing a return doesn't mean they don't have to refund.

Also, just keep an eye on the dispute, keep the package and be ready to upload a photograph of the return stamp if sellers tries anything funny. If items tracked to delivery and refusal , take a screen grab of that RM page as well.
