NS&I Capital Bonds - from the 1990s

Hi all

Grateful for any advice

Our lovely Mum recently passed away, and we are in the process of clearing her belongings.

We have found three Capital Bonds from NS&I taken out in 1990 by our grandfather. I have two siblings, and there are bonds in each of our names.

We had no idea these existed having been in our Mum's personal paperwork. 

From a quick glance on NS&I cannot see anything that helps us and so having had some amazing advice on here relating to Probate and IHT earlier in this awful process, I know how invaluable the knowledge is here so any advice about what we do with these, would be appreciated.

Sorry about your loss.

1. NS&I Capital Bonds are no longer available as an investment option.
2. I believe the bonds have been transferred to the Residual Account.
3. I think you need to fill in the Residual Account Repayment Form and post it back to them.
4. To get the form you can contact them directly or see if you can find it on their website.
