Xbox Live Sub

Options
Morning all.
We bought an xbox one s for my sons xmas 2023. We paid for xbox Ultimate for him at £14.99 per month.
He uses the xbox religiously, as young boys do. However, I notice that all he really does is play Fornite online, or split screen with pals in the house.
Does he need Xbox ultimate for this? Can i drop it to like Core?
We are obv looking at every DD and seeing what we can reduce. However we dont want him to lose anything he enjoys.
So, how would the membership affect Fortnite? If at all?
TIA

This would indicate that if he's only playing Fortnite, he doesn't need either subscription, as it's free.

    HI

Core will work for multiplayer online games so does depend on what else he is getting from core v ultimate.

Other things to consider are using CDkeys etc as they will offer discounts so you should not really need to pay full price, bigger discounts for longer terms but still better than direct for month to month.
Deals do change so if you see a good one snap it up.

Also there is Microsoft rewards, log onto them and do a few click throughs each day, they are nowhere near as good as they used to be but you will get 2-3 months free if you do these daily (Though I have Game Pass for PC so it is cheaper)
