Good morning Gers and all to follow. Thanks for starting.
It's dry here, yesterday was all right as well. Wonder if we dare hope that winter is losing its grip.
We were busy in the house yesterday, tidying and rearranging our little utility room. It looks much better. Also started on the kitchen cupboards and threw a few things out.
In the afternoon we went for a walk, we don't go far, DH hasn't the energy, but it was good to get out for a bit.
It's the Book Club at the library this morning and I'll nip into Morries while I'm out. That's about it.
Hope everyone has a good day, take care folks.13 -
Yesterday was fairly productive though I didn't step outside. Lots of little annoying chores tackled and some more stuff relocated to the bin. This morning I have to miss my exercise class to have my long-awaited shingles vaccination. I won't go on about the last minute change of rules in 2023 which has made me wait this long, I'm just happy now to be able to have it.Nothing much else on the agenda yet, no doubt something will pop up. Enjoy Book Club @Scarlet. Good to hear that you had the traditional Chinese takeaway @Mehefin - small wins.Have a great day everyone, hugs to all.11

Morning, thanks for starting us Gers.
Another frosty and chilly start to the day, but it's so lovely to have sunshine. I made the most of it yesterday and opened all the windows to let the fresh air in.
It must be the time of year as I plan to sort out the kitchen today. Well, that's the plan but whether the enthusiasm will last is another matter. I lay in bed this morning and completely reorganised it, now to do it.
Don't know what's for dinner but there's plenty of choice in the freezer. Last night DH asked for a ham sandwich (which I could do) with pickled onions on the side. I haven't bought them for ages as they weren't getting eaten. I'm sure sometimes he thinks I run a supermarket here 😀
Have a good day all, enjoy the sunshine if you have it. Take care.11 -
Morning all
Cold and frosty here but very bright and sunny which is nice, I have Rob and my other lady coming today it’s her last day with me today due to her health problems so we are going to have some lunch out in town somewhere and a walk around the shops, tbh I’m not sad she is leaving as she struggles to walk any distance and Rob is such a live wire that it’s not really a good match, I shall miss her though.
I have a H&S review after work today so spent some time yesterday pulling all the paperwork out, it should take about an hour so not too bad.
Dinner tonight is left over roast from yesterday so it will just need heating through so nice and easy, I have a wash on the go which can be hung on the line.
Sorted my car insurance yesterday and realised that my mot is due this week 😳 so I have booked in for Thursday good job I noticed.
Snoozer I hope you feel better soon xx
Have good days all and take care xx12 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Hope the jab goes well. RUBY I hope the H & S review goes well.
It feels milder at last this morning. About time! Saturday didn't go well sorting out the van after the winter and getting it ready for the upcoming new season. DD's DP got there early doors Saturday, faced with problems from the word go. The boiler had developed a leak through the winter, despite everything getting drained off at the end of last season. That meant, no heating, no hot water. It was absolutely freezing cold and we weren't without our coats all day. We did as much as we could, getting all the patio furniture out to the decking and cleaning round inside etc. Come teatime we'd had enough, put on the electric fire and got our feet up and watched tv.. The bedrooms were just so cold without heating and I had the worst night ever! There are no plans for any of us to stay again until the end of March, providing the boiler is sorted by then. Alas we all think it's pointing towards a new boiler so an expensive start for the new season by the sound of it. A plumber is going to assess things through the week.
After that saga we were glad to get home and I actually had the best sleep ever last night, making up for the night before! We called for some groceries on the way home as I had missed the SS with my DS. Today has yet to be christened but there are always job waiting in the wings. Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. SNOOZER get well soon. Young children are so good at sharing their bugs around. Take care all x

Thanks everyone, hopefully I'm on the mend and for the first time in what seems like weeks I have no child on my free Monday, hopefully I've not jinxed it and won't get a phone call from school or nursery. Poor Nate is ill but I didn't volunteer to have him, mainly because I'm not sure he's got the same bug as me and I wouldn't like us to cross-contaminate each other.
Gers, I'm with you over the shingles vaccine, there seems no logic behind the way they've organised it, my friend who is 18 months younger has already had hers but I have to wait until 2027.
Steve is going over to C and C's today to work on the stables so he'll have to try to keep away from Nate, he's taking Crystal's presents over, it's her birthday tomorrow, I just hope she doesn't end up ill for it.
I will probably spend most of the day quietly, until I pick up the children at 3, it's Laura's late day at the acupuncture practice and Brian will be working although he's gone to the gym this morning. I have the last book in a new series I discovered, I've really enjoyed them, plenty of humour which is what I needed over the weekend. Annoyingly they are in the genre that has been dubbed Cosy crime which I usually try to avoid (I like blood and gore) but they're more about the characters than the crimes. If anyone's interested i's the Last Ditch series by Catriona McPherson. She's also written a series set in the 1920's but this is contemporary.
TA, brr, I think I would have headed for home rather than sleeping there.
I hope you're ok Derek.
Have a good day.9 -
Morning all Brrr its chilly here but hopefully it warms up a bit later as it has all weekend . We went to source some paint paper and curtains for the box room managed to find some but will double check with DD2 as she has a good eye. DH is working on a new airing cupboard as we have had the boiler changed so it has freed up some space
DD2 will be over later to collect her dog which we have had for the weekend as her in laws have cats now DH managed to pull his back whilst we walked her she is a large dog and getting a bit too much for us .
Ruby Hope the paperwork is straightforward
Snoozer Get well soon we call our grandson Wuhan Willie as he was always bringing us something from nursery
TA Try and have a nana nap later there is nothing worse than being cold all night.
Gers Hope the jab is painless
Right better get on i am starting a new regime on cleaning so better make a start
Have a good day one and all stay safe and i hope the sun shines wherever you are xSlava Ukraini11 -
Morning all, blimey the temperature was back down to -2 last night but at least the sun is out again this morning, small wins and all that.
Yesterday I was ruthless with my craft stuff and about 2/3 has left the building being either binned (it's beyond me why I kept tiny scraps of paper), recycled or in the cs bag. There was lots of crafting stuff which I used with the DGC over the years but at almost 16 and 14 there is no use for it now, perhaps someone else will get pleasure from it.
I my plans for today are to clean the cooker top and empty the dw, plus after rummaging in the freezers yesterday I now need to take everything all out and reorganise them, again.
Mehefin I hope your day went ok yesterday and you had lovely memories of Dawn.
TA shame about the boiler, hope you've warmed up now.
Have a good day all, hope all appointments go well today. Hugs to the poorly, sad or lonely.
nan xx
Failure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently10 -
Morning all. It's another fine day with sunny intervals and a light breeze, we could even get up to 10 deg!
I thoroughly enjoyed my Slobby Sunday and flitted between TV (managed to avoid the ever-present sport), knitting, cross stitch, reading and a little bit of family research that I do via Ancestry. I no longer pay a membership subscription (getting too expensive) but they have free access to some records until 9th March so I took advantage of that to access the 1921 records. I'd forgotten how time consuming it is and felt like I'd been down the rabbit hole!
Today I have the SM delivery coming, one sub that I'm still dithering over whether or not to keep. Listing and putting everything away will keep me out of mischief for a fair while as it's a largish order. I'm doing just one a month now (with small local top ups when needed), I hope I've got it right. Only one item for the freezer too so no freezer juggling required.Tea tonight is a burger with onion gravy, mash and veg, fruit & jelly for afters.
@remmie - Good luck with the kitchen sort out. It's easy to organise things in your head but putting it into action is never as simple! I don't buy pickled onions either for the same reason as you. Instead, I have a small jar of ordinary onions, sliced thinly and covered in malt vinegar for when the urge calls.
@Ruby - Fingers crossed the MOT goes well later this week. Likewise with today's H&S review.
@TA - Oh dear, not a good weekend for you at all. It's great you had a decent night's sleep though, but not an ideal way to get it!
@mehefin - Thanks for the update on your day yesterday, the first 12 months of "occasions" is never easy and you've dealt with it well.
@bella - When we had our boiler installed in the kitchen, we too had space in the airing cupboard once the hot and cold water tanks came out; DH added shelves and it's now my linen storeroom - so useful.
@Nanny - Well done on the crafting purge. Feels good, doesn't it?
Right, time to make a start on the new week. Have a good day, take care. Healing thoughts for those under the weather and not well. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.10
