Unused Sky cables can they be removed or cut

Am having my living room redecorated. No longer with sky and left with all these cables. If I removed them, there will be holes in the walls. Was thinking maybe be cutting them and they will be more manageable like hiding behind furnitures. Any advice pl? Thanks

Assuming those cables are from a satellite feed you can safely remove them. If you can pull them out from wherever they are fed I would do that and fill the holes.

If you are able to hide the cable behind furniture anyway then just neatly coil the cable and secure it with some tape.

Can you see the cable where it comes out on the other side of the wall?  Where does it go to?

Yes from the sky dish outside. I no longer subscribe to sky.

Cut the cable off, pull it through and fill the hole. If you ever go back to Sky they are pushing a streaming service now so no dish required.

    Use them for freesat instead?

Personally would terminate them to a faceplate like below rather than just cut them off, leave the option of freesat in the future

We had virginmedia cables when we had virgin TV. I cut them accidentally thinking they were old BT telephone wires. We ended up pulling them all off and looks neater.

My thoughts too. A shallow box on the wall won't be obtrusive and will provide FreeSat for any future use, assuming the dish is still there. If that's a rusty eyesore, pull the whole lot out.

Unusual to paint the top edge of the skirting the wall colour, was that tricky keeping a straight line?

The cables will lead to some little widgets on the Sky dish; they aren't mains powered and can be cut.
The only consideration regarding pulling the cables out is to adequately seal the holes on the outside wall.
(Regarding Freesat - that's what mine are now connected to.)
