Morning all, Thanks for starting us off @Scarlet.The morning is bright clear and cold, just like yesterday the world brightened up to become a lovely day. Fingers crossed for the same today. I buzzed around doing lots of stuff yesterday. Took away a bag of rubbish, handed over a bag of unwanted clothes to a charity shop and even deposited a bag of rags in the textile dump. Then I tackled the spice drawer, Pulled everything out, washed the drawer, sifted through the bottles and boxes And eventually made it all tidy and clean. Lots of out of date and unwanted unused stuff in the bin, I felt quite satisfied even though has taken two weeks to get round to it. Finally I cleared out my car boot which had become a bit of a dumping ground - mostly bags for life - as it has its first MOT on Wednesday and I think that a check is made on the spare tyre and tools. Now I want to shift things around a bit in the kitchen and reorganise it all. I'm planning on giving away a lot of my now unused kitchen gadgets to a friend's daughter who is about to move into her first home. I have no-one to bake for anymore and don't really need the equipment if I did decide to bake again. Time to get radical! 😂
My knickers are a worry just now. 😱 I've realised that most of the ones I wear are getting very thin, all are much less than white and a lot are still tinged a pale wishy-washy green colour from the new pyjamas debacle months ago. Luckily, I have two new unopened packets lurking in the bedroom so I'll be sorting the swap this morning. Once that is done my day is open to inspiration.I hope that everyone is doing well. Hugs to all.12 -
Morning again, hope everyone is ok.
Thanks all for your good wishes for my old friend in hospital ( I posted the other day that she was in hospital after a fall) I haven't heard any more but don't want to bother her daughter, so I'll just wait for news.
Glad you enjoyed your little break Gers. Pity you got caught up in the roadworks on the m/way, they've been going on for over a year. The Tyne Bridge has been down to one lane for ages as well, there are major refurbishments going on for its 100th birthday in 2028.
Izzy, have a great time in Northumberland.
Ruby, hope you are ok after the onslaught of nasty emails from Rob's sister, you did the right thing by handing it over to the social workers.
Thoughts to our poorly and sad people, and hope everyone has as good a day as they can.11 -
Hi all
Another bright and cold morning. Yesterday was just lovely. After a dog walk there was some hedge tackling - it was more tops of trees than an actual hedge. Not the easiest with lots of moving ladders required - I ended up with a sore eye from a twig that slapped me, an achey shoulder (slipped down the ladders 🙄) and a swollen finger from a blackthorn thorn - I hadn’t realised how toxic they are apparently. Anyway the latter is much better this morning. Then managed to clean some metal obelisks that had gone green so a good garden day,
Today needs to be van cleaning, again……..and there are some new heathers to plant, all of which should create less possibility for injuries than yesterday.
take care all

Morning All
Bright this morning thank goodness as I have a white wash on the go to peg out. Yesterday's drizzle turned into quite a nice afternoon with plenty of sunshine.
I've already cleaned the bathrooms and am definitely going to tackle the windows today - I've been saying that for a few weeks now!
Had a lovely catch up with friends yesterday at the art galleries, they had never been before and loved it. They have a DD who is just a year old and she is just adorable, full of smiles and one of the happiest babies I've met for quite a while.
Hope everyone is well and you have a peaceful Sunday. Take care. XX8 -
Morning all
Just lost a long post, so long story short didn't get on here yesterday as was under the weather from celebrating DHs birthday, enough said!
Catching up with chores today, roast lamb for dinner. Have a good day all.8 -
Morning all, it's a bit dull today which is a shame after the lovely sun. Thanks Gers glad you had a nice trip. Realised I hadn't posted for a couple of days and only caught up late last night, and sorry I cant remember who said what
but hope all are ok.
Usual Sat. football, and a nice surprise when DGS mum came to watch with his little half sister, doesn't often get chance - she usually takes her dancing but it was later. We had a good catch up and the boys won.Curry for tea later, and DH has asked my DB2 & Sil to come next weekend when he'll cook his specialityDB1/SiL will be away.
Nothing else of note, I've been continuing making the cards for our old school friends to give out through the year, and 2 for cousins this month as well, oh and I've dug out my old crochet stuff, had to watch an online video as I'd forgotten a couple of the stitches.
Hope it's a good day for you all.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Morning all. A hard frost overnight but it's bright sunshine now.
I'm pushing on with trying to be dairy free. One of the hardest things is milk for my tea so at the moment I'm drinking it black. My taste buds are also affected so can't taste it properly anyway! It seems a lot of dairy free stuff is vegan and I know I've seen vegan Galaxy chocolate in a SM somewhere so will hunt that down. My 75% Lidl chocolate is fine to eat but sometimes a girl needs a change
It was a good music session in London yesterday, with about 24 of us downstairs in the pub. I got there early enough to get a couple of geocaches en route and was home about 6pm. Some of the regulars are trying to start a mid month session near Baker St so I'll wait until there's news of that.
Off down the M1 today for a half day Morris practice. Have made some gingerbread to share at the break and then DH is cooking for when I get back.
Hope everyone is keeping ok and the sunshine is bringing a good start to the month.8 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Another bright day but it's still quite chilly out.
Plan is to do a bit in the garden. Maybe start a few seeds on the windowsill.
Take careIf you walk at night no-one will see you cry.8 -
Morning all, another fine sunny day, shhh shouldn't speak too loud or it might disappear !
I didn't manage to get on yesterday as we were at Dads for 7.30 am waiting for his new TV to arrive. It's all set up and he's trying to get used to the new remote, I threw 2 old ones away but I don't know how he had 2 for one tv 🤷♀️ and the firm took the old tv away with them. Some dusting and hoovering was done before the new one was set up then I made bacon butties which we all enjoyed. I suddenly felt unwell so we made a sharp exit and at home I fell asleep on the sofa for 2 hrs. I went to bed early too and slept for another 10 hrs with only one loo visit.
I don't have any plans for today but I would like to sort through my craft stuff as it's all jumbled in together. I forgot to take any meat out to defrost for today so will have to freezer dive, I'm sure there's something suitable in there.
Have a good peaceful Sunday everyone.
Take care all

Morning all. Another good weather day today, maybe not quite as sunny as yesterday but it's dry and feeling mild so I'll take that.
After sending off a grocery order yesterday, I did lots of little "pottering" jobs around the house - the ones that get put off but only take a few minutes each to do. Mr Postie brought the first of the new financial year bills - rent, up by 2.7%, so that's a third of the state pension increase gone already.Anyway, I've input the new figures onto the spreadsheet that I'd set up in readiness and I should imagine bills for CT, water etc will be on their way very soon.
Today it's Sunday Slothfulness Day, fast becoming my favourite day of the week!Even tea tonight is an easy one - chilli and jacket potato from the freezer, so just some veg to prep. I've just had a late breakfast - eggy bread, thoroughly enjoyed.
@mehefin - I'm so glad you've decided to have your traditional Chinese meal today. It will of course be a poignant day for you but I'm sure Dawn will be cheering you on; remember, she wouldn't want you to be moping around. Hugs.
@Gers - You certainly had a busy day yesterday, the break must have invigorated you!
@AA - Please have an injury-free day!
@Nanny - Sorry to hear you weren't well yesterday, you must really have needed that sleep.
As always, enjoy your day and take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9
