Good morning all - thanks for starting us off Scarlet. Pinch punch.Despite the greyness it's so lovely to see lighter mornings again. I may emerge from my winter sloth soon. 😀
The other day I drove an old familiar route from Darlington to Newcastle, just after Washington services there are even more roadworks and congestion than ever. . Traffic backed right to the services, nothing has changed since I moved in 2014. I did my usual thing of coming off at the Angel (waved at him) and then, further along, got snared up in another set of work which meant I missed my turn off and ended up driving through Felling. 😱 I eventually found my way back to my beloved Swing Bridge over the Tyne. It all made me really appreciate my quiet backwater where we get FB posts warning about a cow on the road. 😂 I'm done with travelling hassles.I did a little light shopping yesterday, took the car to the hand washing guys and did a small washing load. The pile of clothing for the CS are now in a bag ready to go. This morning I plan to treat myself to breakfast and WILL sort out the spice drawer which really needs it.Take care everyone. I hope that life is getting better or at least not worse. Hugs to all.11 -

Morning all
Bright but frosty here - it’s a joy compared to the winter greyness.Hopefully there’ll be lots of outdoor time - I’m itching to start tidying the garden - there’s a massive hedge that could do with about 4 foot of twigs off the top before it gets into leaf.At the beginning of the year we wrote some countries/areas on slips of paper with the hope of trying some new meals - N African got pulled out for tonight. I’ve made Moroccan before and have a tagine pot but this is a new recipe for orange and fennel chicken tagine which I’m looking forward to (I couldn’t find any other countries’ meals from that area that we all like).Take care all

Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. Another sunny day is promised, hope they are not lying as we need a nice sunny day for our caravan toiling. Hoping there have been no more landslips over the Blubberhouses overnight as it involves a lengthy detour!
I'm just enjoying another peaceful coffee before DD comes to pick me up for probably a chaotic day. Her DP has already left to get the boiler and heating running, hope there are no problems! I don't function well when I am cold. She texted to say amazingly she is running to time so won't be long. I've been fed and watered and all is packed.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"10 -
Morning all. Bright and sunny but very frosty here.
I actually contacted my GP surgery yesterday about my ear and got called in to see a PA. She took a look and said I had fluid behind both ear drums as a result of inflamed sinuses. I hadn't realised it was both ears! Was prescribed a steroid type nasal spray to take and advised to do steam inhalations and have a dairy free diet. All this seems to follow on from having sinus problems last summer and I could jolly well do without it! I now think I've had this for some years and didn't realise what was going on. Unfortunately it will take some time to settle down fully but I hope it does.
On a brighter note I'm off down to Kings Cross today for a music session. I only get the chance to go a couple of times a year, as it clashes with other things, so will make the most of it. Might go down early and have a (dairy free!) lunch at the Wellcome Foundation on Euston Road.
It sounds as though you're off to the caravan TA? Hope you manage to keep warm and have a peaceful time.
Hugs to everyone and have a good weekend.11 -
Morning All
After the last couple of days of lovely sunshine we're back to grey skies and drizzle. Oh well, at least all the bedding was dried yesterday and went straight back on the bed - it smelled lovely!
Have a great holiday Izzy.
Happy caravanning TA, hope all is well.
That traffic sounds awful Gers.
Hope your ears get better soon WL.
Ruby, you're right to pass it all over to SW now.
Shopping this morning then I'm going with DD to meet up with some friends at the Kelvingrove Museum - cake and coffee may be involved!
I saw all the planets last night, quite a spectacle once you know what you're looking for!
Hope everyone is well and you have a good weekend.
Take care. XX8 -
Morning all, Happy St David's Day to our Welsh friends. Here we are in March already and the weather is looking up - for a while at least! It was another cold night with a hard frost but we're being rewarded with sunshine from the get-go. A bit of cloud could arrive this afternoon but it will still be dry. Now, if only the sun could muster up a bit more heat ......
Yesterday I did the usual Friday admin, month end budget reconciliation (all good) and reviewed this month's upcoming finances. I did a towels wash and started on the bathroom deep clean that I'll finish off today. Once that's done, the whole of upstairs will have had its annual Spring clean.
Today I'll be placing an online grocery order for delivery on Monday. I'm doing that just a month now (with small local top ups in-between) so I'll have to make sure what I order will be enough to last. So far, it's working out and the budget has been drastically pruned to almost half of what it was. Tea tonight is a salad with scampi, fruit & jelly for afters. @AA - your chicken tagine sounds a lot more exciting!
@TA - Happy caravan expedition, fingers crossed it's not too chaotic!
Onwards and upwards with a new month, let's hope it's a good one for us all. Take care, enjoy your day. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning all
Bright and sunny here with a sharp frost it looks to be a lovely day, I have a wash on the go which can be hung out for that lovely outdoor smell.
Ive heard nothing from ‘The mad one’ so I’m hoping for a peaceful weekend. Thank you all for your support xx
Dinner tonight will be pork chops and mash and veg I messed up a bit on the meal plan so we ended up having pork chops two days in a row, never mind I’m sure it will be tasty, OH’s turn to cook tonight.
Housework to do this morning and then get the dogs out for a good run I also need to look at my car insurance which is due for renewal which is a horrible job but needs must.
First I am going to treat myself to a toasted hot cross bun for breakfast 😃
Have good days all and take care xx
