I'm only being offered Economy 7 tariffs

My house used to have an Economy 7 meter, but it has had a smart meter for a couple of years. When I moved in I left the Economy 7 tariff for a few months, but it became clear I would be better off using a single rate tariff. I have been with two energy providers in the house so far, each time I have been put into an Economy 7 tariff and then I have had to ask to be moved to a single rate tariff. This has never been a problem, not even before having the smart meter.

But I'm now trying to get a fixed tariff, and I'm only being offered Economy 7 tariffs. I can choose to see non-Economy 7 in the Cheap Energy Club, but then I click on the cheapest one, it sends me to the energy provider website... and back we are to Economy 7. I don't want to agree to an Economy 7 fixed tariff that I will be forced into for a year, so it's not just a matter of asking to change later. I could try to do it within the cool off period, but...

Has anybody else had this problem? How have you solved/handled it?

Have you tried using other search engines, going directly to the supplier's site, emailing the supplier or phoning them?

Your meter profile is probably still set as '02' which is for households with a multi-rate (economy 7).

That will cause all the other suppliers to initially put you onto a multi-rate tariff.

You can ask your current supplier to change the profile code to '01' but it will probably take a while...

It varies.  Some websites look up your details, others ask you what you have / want.
