Backup Executor

I have one person listed as both executor and trustee of my will.
I also have one person listed as a backup executor, in the event of anything happening to the primary person.
Q. If something did happen to the primary person, and the backup stepped forward as executor, would the back also become trustee?

An executor is also trustee of your estate until it is wound up and distributed so the answer is yes.1

Does that apply to a situation where a minor inherits the estate? Would the backup executor automatically become the trustee, of the trust for the minor?0
