Savings starter rate

If you are under State pension age and
all your income was from ISAs, presumably you also have the starter rate available, along with personal allowance?
So theoretically you could take any amount from an ISA and still have £18750 in other savings interest before tax was due? i.e. £250k + in non tax wrappered savings?
That seems remarkably generous, unless I’m misunderstanding.

What about an inherited tax free pension - would that count against the SSR? or again, could you draw any amount you like and still benefit ?
Perhaps it affects so few people that it’s not a concern to HM Gov?

Yes - you can earn up to £18,570 in combined salary, pension and savings interest income without paying tax.
Your income from salary or pension would need to be £12,570 or below for the whole of the £5k savings starter rate to be available to you though - any amount above this (and less than £17,570) would reduce the amount of savings starter rate available to you proportionally and once you earn £17,570 or more from a salary or pension, then you'll only have the PSA allowance available.
What do you mean by 'inherited tax-free pension' ? Is this a pension that is simply tax-free because it's less than £12,570 ?1 -
No, if you inherit a DC pension from someone under age 75, it’s completely tax free to draw.So you could inherit a £1million pension and have the lot income tax free.If I died, for example, my wife inherits my Sipps and ISA tax free but she would be taxed on my military pension, well she would once she got her State pension and it took her over the personal allowance.0
