I'm have 13 kw hybrid and currently on EDF Evolve EV tariff. Due to imminent price increases I'm looking for the best EV tariff but suppliers dont want to tell you their price?????

Moneysupermarket doesnt have EV option
Compare the Market doesn't have any EV tariff prices (although every company has one)
If you go to direct to companies then all you can access is their blurb but not the prices
I cant even access EDF EV tariff prices even though I have one with them

My current prices are:

Electricity supply

Peak unit rate

24.12p per kWh

Off peak unit rate

14.12p per kWh

Standing charge

56.89p per day

----------------

Quick Update: Found and went with Tomato 🍅.

5p kwt 12-5:30

15p kwt 9:30 - 11:30

25p kwt rest of day

45p standing charge

0p Early termination 👍

Super quick switch and 4 days later I'm paying 65p to charge my car 👍

Cheers. They all seem have an EV tariff but won't disclose prices. I might try phoning them all up and post the prices here
  • To get EDF's current EV prices you need to get a quote from their website on the EV tariff section without being logged in, as if you were a new customer. If you want to stay with EDF but switch you likely need to call them.

Had no problems getting Eon Next Drive and British Gas EV quotes online - though you need to get to their specific EV tariff quote pages, from memory they differ to their normal tariff quote pages.

The Tomato time of use tariff is called Lifestyle - it's not EV specific. There are multiple options under Lifestyle, you need to experiment with different answers to the tailor your quote questions to see what's the cheapest.

The EDF EV tariff quote engine asks for mileage to estimate night usage but that doesn't account for your non-EV night time usage in the 5 hour cheap period, so if you want a more accurate quote then adjust your mileage up to compensate for your typical midnight-5am other use. Other suppliers may take a similar approach.

You may struggle to get online quotes from some of the suppliers listed in the post above if they try to obtain your smart meter data as part of the process (OVO won't quote for me).

    ScottishPower also offer EV tariffs

I've logged out of my EDF account and followed quote as a new user, checked ev tariff but they only quote std electric tariffs

None of the companies will tell you their EV tarrif prices, just the blurb and night unit prices

https://www.eonnext.com/tariffs/next-drive at the quote stage say you are interested in the EV tariff to see the prices.

https://octopus.energy/smart/go/ select check rates in my area

https://octopus.energy/smart/intelligent-octopus-go/ scroll down and enter your postcode to check your rates

    https://www.tomato.energy/quote

All of the above display unit prices

Pretty sure I'm going with tomato EV tariff as both night/day time and standing charge are all cheaper than I'm paying and it's fixed until October 👍

Just be aware that Tomato need to up their game, as currently there's a real risk they won't last until October!

I tried to go to tomato but they have an it issue that means they can't switch people in some regions - but they don't bother to tell the people they fail to switch....
    I think....
