Morning all
Cold and frosty here but the sun is shining which lifts the spirits, I have just been out to feed the birds and top their water up.
Yes another email yesterday from the mad one 🙄 this one two pages long listing everything she believes I have done wrong such as, I change her mum mileage every month and she has never been given a receipt, I replied to her that I give her mum a receipt every single month and I have copies here going back 2.5 years if she would like to see them, another point she said was that she had to belittle herself as I had emailed her asking her to ask the home carers not to put a certain pair of trousers on Rob as they were too small and he was uncomfortable all day, I still have the email about the trousers and I was very polite and professional, I replied to the email answering all of her points, I have told her I will not be replying again and that I will hand this all over to the sw to deal with, she has really taken against me and I believe it’s all because I asked for the £120 that I am owed 🙄 I think she is very worried about people looking into the finances which says a lot! The sw is off today so we won’t get a reply till Monday at the earliest.
Dinner tonight will be pork chop chips and peas, I have put a wash on this morning and will hang it out for a while once done.
I have to take mum to hospital this morning I will then come back and walk the dogs and then have a rest, I still feel very stressed and upset by all the drama this woman is causing, I have been a carer for nearly 14 years and have never had a bad review or had any complaints about me.
Gers welcome back xx
Bella sorry I meant to say congratulations on the new baby xx
Izzy have a great holiday xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -
Morning all. It's another bright sunny day, the early morning mist has burned off but a thick overnight frost lingers on. Yesterday was pleasant enough but it was a lot cooler out than I'd expected, thanks to an underlying chill in the breeze, and I think today may well be the same, although I'll not be out anywhere. Lots of signs of Spring around - snowdrops, crocus, daffodils and a few primroses. The trees are starting to wake up, no leaves as yet but the fat leaf buds are there. The willow tree outside my kitchen still has bare branches but they've started to take on a lime coloured tinge. The council grass cutter was doing its job (a bit early in the year I thought) and sounded like a swarm of angry hornets, although the birds were having a high old time searching through the clippings looking for grubs and insects. All this marred by seeing a dead squirrel by the roadside, so not picture perfect.
I did a small top-up shop yesterday (bagged a few bargains), disposed of soft plastics and returned a book but borrowed two more. I need help, I'm a book-aholic!The Co-op has acquired a Costa coffee machine, a big beast of a thing, and the poor girl on the checkout said its aroma is giving her a headache. The store is between two housing estates so I'm not sure who will be using it unless it's the older children on their way home from school. I can't say I was overly impressed by the revamped Bergerac, mainly due to the mumbled dialogue that was difficult to hear - I have very good hearing so it's not me at fault, it just seems to be a trend.
Nothing exciting today; it's the usual Friday admin including the month end budget reconciliation and the bathroom is due a deep clean, followed by a towels wash. The kitchen cupboard clean produced a tin of fruit cocktail past its BB date so I'll add that to jelly for individual desserts that will do for a few days. Tea tonight is a fish fillet accompanied by leftover sliced/fried potatoes. The cross stitch is coming along nicely, albeit slowly - it's a bit like doing a jigsaw with coloured threads - I find it relaxing but only do about an hour at a time as it can be taxing on the eyes.
@Scarlet - I'm so sorry to hear about your friend. Well done on using up the vouchers.
Happy birthday to Mr Remmie.
Welcome back @Gers, belated birthday wishes. I'm glad you enjoyed your time away, shame about the jumper though.
@TA - Your DGD obviously has the knack of zooming in on expensive! I hope you find all is well at your summer residence, remember to pack some warm clothing though.
@Ruby - I think you're right to leave it all to the SW now and not interact directly with Rob's sister anymore. As you say, possible investigation into how the finances are being dealt with is perhaps making her panic. Easier said than done, I know, but try not to worry.
Right, must stir my stumps or nothing will get done. I hope everyone enjoys the last day of the month and can look forward to meteorological Spring tomorrow. Take care, healing wishes for the Poodles/sad/lonely, hugs where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
YL I had to put the subtitles on for Bergerac last night. It seems a sign of the times now that all dialogue is mumbled! Otherwise I was quite enjoying it until I realised it wasn't one off episodes as previously. I might have to binge watch it as I forget what's happened week to week."If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"9

Morning all, the sun is out again and the cold wind has gone. I didn't start my jigsaw yesterday as I was reading my book and the time just flew by, I love it when you can get your teeth into a story.
Today I have no plans so will go with the flow, there's always something to do around the house. I have Bergerac recorded but I'm not sure I want to watch it if the sound isn't very good perhaps I'll try the first episode and see.
Gers welcome back, glad you had a good break.
RedRuby try not to get upset by the sister and let the sw deal with all of it. I think she's trying to wear you down so you'll give up and forget about the money owed. She'll make as much fuss as possible and bombard you with this and that so that you'll give in !
Remmie happy birthday to Mr R.
Sorry if I haven't mentioned everyone as I seem to have brain fog this morning.
Take care all
nan xxFailure is simply the opportunity to begin again, but this time more intelligently9 -
@TA - I know exactly what you mean about remembering from one week to the next.
I don't normally get on very well with subtitles but might give it a try - at least I can now see the subtitles post-cataract surgery which I couldn't do before.
@Nanny - Don't let us put you off Bergerac, it was only the sound quality that could have been better. I'll give it another go next week.Be kind to others and to yourself too.7 -
@RedRuby1231 Please remember that you've just had your assessment, and that if anyone had any issues with your caring work, you would know about it. Your caring nature is so evident with how you talk about Rob, the SWs know that and Rob's family also know that your focus is on Rob's wellbeing x2021 Decluttering Awards: ⭐⭐🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇🥇 2022 Decluttering Awards: 🥇
