Good morning, thanks for starting Gers
It's dry and frosty here.
Didn't get to my friend's yesterday, her daughter rang me to say she'd had a fall and was in hospital, and not very well. It's worryng, she's 90 years old and frail. We'll just have to hope for the best.
I did a bit of shopping, I had a gift card and a few vouchers which expire today, but I spent them. They only totalled £20 but I wasn't going to waste them, by letting them expire.
That was all I did apart from the usual jobs in the house.
Today we're going to Do*bies, I want to buy a bigger pot for a houseplant that's looking a bit sorry for itself, that's about it really.
Hope everyone has a good day, thinking of our sad and poorly people.
Take care folks.13 -
Morning All
Good to see you back Gers, hope you had a good time.
Sorry to hear your friend is in hospital Scarlet, my elderly Aunt has been in for a couple of weeks and it's a worry. Well done on using the gift cards.
I thought it was going to be a decent day so have put the bedding on the line including the mattress protector but it's a bit gloomy, hopefully it will cheer up later. I missed a really good drying day yesterday - typical!
Had a haircut last night, really need to stop the hairdresser talking as it's a bit short.
Friday funday at school, the children will enjoy it but I and my colleague will be run off our feet making popcorn and selling sweeties and crisps!
What a cheek Ruby, hope you get it all sorted soon.
Hugs to anyone in need.
Take care. XX10 -

@ScarletRibbons sorry to hear about your friend. Pleased you got to spend your gift card, it's so annoying if you forget.
Ruby hope you get things sorted with Rob's money
Feels very cold at the moment. Really need to get into the garden but not sure if it will happen today.
Take care
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.11 -

Morning, nice to see you back Gers.
Dry and cloudy out. Yesterday was a lovely sunny day although a little on the chilly side in the wind. I did my monthly stock up, the shops weren't too busy.
Today is DHs birthday, so a little bit of spoiling for him
He never celebrates his birthday which I think goes back to when he was growing up. From what he says his parents didnt make much of birthdays or Christmas, not for religious reasons but lack of money. DD and the granddaughters will be ringing him later to make a fuss.
Scarlet, sorry to hear about your friend, hope she's ok.
Ruby hope you can get this sorted out. You do your best for Rob and shouldn't be treated like that.
Izzy, enjoy your holiday, hope the sun shines on you.
Have a good day, hugs to all who need them.12 -
Morning all and thanks for the start @Gers, welcome back 😊
Sorry to hear about your friend @ScarletRibbons - very worrying bless her x
We have our little grand furbaby here for a few days. He is such a cutie - almost makes me want one! Not a lot happening today. DD’s room has stalled again as DH needs yet another piece of kit. At least we will then have it all to use in the other rooms.Washing to do today and dinner is salmon, rice and green beans.Have a good day everyone

Hi everyone
Another bright and cold day here - yesterday was lovely, a great dog walk and an hour or so tidying in the garden, definitely what I needed.A walk up the canal today to the next village to check the graves of the parents of my BF, she’s in N Scotland so I just keep an eye occasionally. I planted some crocus so want to see if they’re through.Working for a couple of hours this afternoon and a few bits to get in town.
best wishes to all, especially the poorlies and their friends/relativesAA15 -
Morning again. It's very chilly, frosty even, and bright. My time away was so lovely, it was such a tonic to be with friends who really spoiled me, their eldest son even bought me a very tasty birthday lunch at Raby Castle - his parents and siblings were rather shocked at that.
There was a surprise Teams call with one of our ex-colleagues who now works and lives in Bonn. What a real treat, especially as he's extremely busy but took the time for me. We all worked together years ago but keep in contact. Then I took a slight detour home to do a brief visit to my elderly friends in Newcastle as the husband is not too well.
Now, it's 'back to porridge and old clothes'. I did a disastrous wash load yesterday and ruined an almost new jumper - the label says to hand wash only but I didn't read it beforehand. Not only has it felted but it's shed loads of fibres all over the the two other items. Cue a picking off stuff session later today.I have read back, there's been births, illness, upsets and joys. What a week you've all had. I'm off shopping now so send hugs to all.10 -
Morning folks. A foggy chilly start here but the sun is supposed to put its hat on shortly! It shone all day yesterday and felt warm through the windows but once outside there was a nithering breeze blowing so not as warm as expected! A few things got put upright but I didn't dally for long.
Welcome back GERS. Happy holiday IZZIE, the forecast is looking quite good for you. I hope the poorly elderlies are soon perking up. Happy Birthday MR REMMIE. RUBY I hope for better news today, the stress of it will be taking its toll on you.
A very excited middle DGD sent me some photos last night. She and DD were booked to look at Prom dresses (another money grabbing idea to thank the US for) She has settled on a royal blue one and according to DD it was about the most expensive in the shop! She looks absolutely fabulous in it - but I would say that wouldn't I.
The Friday Tidy is in store, then the end of month banking to do. Then I have an overnight bag to pack! Nothing to get excited about though! Being the 1st March tomorrow the site opens up for the season and we can visit our summer residence (well ok, static caravan!) and give it a clean after the winter months. Plus stuff stored here is to take back. I have packed some store cupboard stuff and restocked my toiletries in readiness.. Just me, DD and youngest DGD going but hoping DD's DP gets there early doors to get the boiler and heating system up and running or it will be blooming freezing! We intend just staying the one night as DGD has to be back for her Sunday Rendezvous class in Leeds at lunchtime. It will have to get a lot warmer before I go for a longer stay!
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all stay safe xx

Morning all. An overnight frost here and it's very misty. I've just turned the thermostat up for a while to warm up.
Glad you had a great time away Gers: a little tonic.
DGS2 yesterday was definitely coming down with a cold so no doubt I'll have it before too long. He's very good at letting me wipe his nose though and tries to do it himself sometimes.
I've just checked plans for the day with DH as we both need to be in the kitchen to make things and there's not room for both of us to cook properly at the same time. I'll be making gingerbread this morning, ready to take to a dance practice on Sunday and he'll have the space after lunch to make a big shepherd's pie for dinner with DD on Saturday.
One of us also needs to do the ironing and I need make a list and do a proper supermarket shop, as we've just been topping up things for a while now. We also have 2 lamb steaks in the freezer from last September so they have come out to defrost and cook for tonight. Hopefully will have lots of veg with them and avoid the potatoes, as I know I've put on a bit of weight over the winter.
DS is just about to fly off on his Stag weekend this morning so I hope they all have a wonderful time. I've been told they're going to Lisbon, which I've briefly visited.
I hope everyone has a good day and keeps warm. Meteorological Spring tomorrow!!11
