Parking charges

Advice needed please.
I have a final reminder for multiple unpaid parking charges from direct collection bailiffs ltd.
I am the registered keeper but due to certain police bail conditions, I had to leave my residence and left the car at home.
A driver of my vehicle entered a barrier controlled car park at a hospital and the exit barrier was left up, so left without paying ( 3 times in 2 days).
Notices where sent to me as the registered keeper, but I had been unfortunately sent to prison. I was told that mail had been forwarded to me, but I never received anything.
After my release I went back to my home to find a final reminder stating that I can no longer appeal the parking charge, but to dispute the charge if the matter was taken to court.
Im not disputing that the vehicle wasn't there, im just not happy that I hadn't received prior notifications so i could have prevented the charge escalating.
Can i actually do anything or do i just pay up to stop further costs.??

Of course you aren't paying.
All you have is a DCB Ltd letter as seen in the 4th post of the NEWBIES thread.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
