Travel Insurance and genetic testing.

I am undergoing genetic testing as a precaution because a family member discovered they have a genetic syndrome. Have I got the syndrome, insurance is no problem with no additional premium.
My travel insurance company initially refused me insurance but after a referral to the underwriter they agreed to give me cover.
My renewal price is almost double last years, not because of the test, my husband has some new health issues.
I have tried to shop around for a better price but have been turned down when I have I mention the genetic test.
Have read some guidelines which have said there is no requirement for me to declare genetic test results and the hospital has advised I am under no legal obligation to report the test but I am very cautious about insurance and don't want to take the risk. The period while I wait for the results seems to be the issue. My other option is to cancel the test and request it again after my holidays as guidelines are clear that they can not make me take the test but I would rather get it over with.
Has anyone encountered this situation or have any advice, thank you in advance.

No sorry if I am not clear, my annual insurance expires on 29/3/25, I am going on holiday on 28/3/25. I am getting the test on 4/3/25 with results in 6-8 week. The holiday is linked to a birthday celebration or I would postpone it.0
