Letters from Trace following Gatwick/NCP PCN

What on earth are you afraid of? Are you imagining that "court" is all wigs and gowns and a criminal record? The gullible tree is ripe with low-hanging fruit ready to picked off by these scammers and you are showing exactly why they prey on the ignorance and fear of people who have absolutely no idea of how this system works, their rights and how to beat it.
No one here, who is receiving advice and following it, ever pays a penny to NCP for a speculative invoice issued by them because the driver allegedly breached a contract. You can waste £170 or pay nothing, your choice. However, if you end up funding this scam, you become a part of the problem, not the solution.2 -
Lots of simple things involve a dozen 'steps' but you'd never think twice about them!
e.g.
going on holiday includes more than 12 steps:
choosing dates, choosing destination, booking time off work, then accommodation, booking the flights, choosing baggage choices, deciding on travel insurance, packing, car being booked into the long-stay car park, getting to the right terminal and then gate, arriving in the new country, travelling from the airport, and finally booking in at the hotel.
Our 12 steps include "here's how to fill in this form" and "here's a defence I've 95% written for you".There's literally nothing that's hard to do.
The only difference here is you're out of your comfort zone because you've never done it before. Please trust us from this point on.!
Bottom line: there's no point AT ALL paying anyone £170 to avoid paying nothing in the end.
You already know this: if you'd come here first you'd have had the PCN cancelled with one email.
But now you are here, join us and rescue it. By doing precisely nothing for now.
My goodness you could even settle at Court Mediation phone call stage for £20 or so if you fancy that resolution.
Wouldn't you bite my hand off for that chance now? I think yes. But the thug industry doesn't do that until you defend. Then they take you seriously!
We're telling you how to get to that place.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

So I ignore them for now and then, I presume, I get a letter saying the "offer" period is over and they're consulting with NCP about legal action?

Yes - which you ignore.

So what happens then? Most of the posts on the "successes" thread seem to be from people who successfully appealed the initial letter. I'm well past that point.0

Just wait it out. It will eventually stop. Ignore everything, especially the uselsss debt recovery letters that you’ll receive.1
-
Out of interest, do you know of anyone literally replying to a threat with a link to the Newbies thread and a reference to the fact that you know and they know that continuing to send letters is pointless? They must know this resource is here?0
-
NCP make very very few court claims. They're one of the least litigious.
When they do occasionally take a punt they use BW Legal. No point paying now because only the debt collection letter has arrived. Quite often they then give up and go away.
Come back if you get a letter from an actual solicitor. The £170 doesn't increase so no risk in waiting.2 -

Do you mean 'Successful complaints'?
The only reason most of those complaints worked at an early stage is because we advise people that landowner complaint is PLAN A and new posters have gone straight in with that tactic.
Plenty of the successful complaints are in fact at LBC stage.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
