Cadent Workers Vanished!

Cadent have been digging gardens and walkways to install new gas pipes and our part of the street is the last section of around 20 homes.

Instead of finishing the street however they have packed up and gone seeming completely from the whole area.

Is this normal to leave part of the street and maybe come back in the future, I would think if everyone else needs the new pipes so would we at some point.
Don't get me wrong it is a bit of a relief to not have the drive dug up but surely all pipes will need to be done.

Maybe there's been an emergency elsewhere that they need to resolve??

Around our area people really moan about the long term work that is being done and don't want it to happen.  No one seems to think that if things are done properly then the emergencies will be less frequent and less disruptive.

Maybe your 20 houses are supplied by a different main supply pipe, coming from another direction from the rest of the street.

When they did our's, we all got letters delivered stating what they were doing and when.  If you didn't get a letter, I would think they will replace yours at some other time.

Same thing was being done in our area last year, two residential streets, advanced notice, expected 9 months of work. They ran out of time and packed up, headed off to the next scheduled job. We're one of about 20 properties outstanding. They've been back to do one urgent job.
