First spend of the month as follows : Cats = £14.98 and me = £45.16. Hopefully, this spend will cover me for most of the month and the cats for the next 10 days to fortnight. V annoyed that I didn't wait a day until 1 March as the lidl app vouchers start again, which means instead of free sweets I would have go a free bakery & veg item.7

£240 for March
£10 less than last month, but I'm doing baby steps. This is for 2 adults, 2 large dogs and wild bird seed. Also, all cleaning, bathroom and personal hygiene supplies. It doesn't include food on days out as this comes from the holiday budget.GC Feb 25 - £225.54/£250 Mar £218.63/£2409 -
Just been through my March Shopping list and culled £60 off it. Mostly because DH has to be on a low fat diet and has to lose weight so he can have his gallbladder removed. So it's a health driven kickstart to the Mediterranean diet we generally pick up in May, after a winter of starchy loveliness. The thing is, I had no idea how much he snacked at night until this week. After a week in hospital, virtually no milk, cheese, butter or cream was used.
There will be no more making his porridge with whole milk, or topping it with cream and no more cheese-monster on thickly buttered crackers or bread for him. I found I only use milk in tea, as a sauce or just occasionally, as a glass to drink! I do eat too much sweet stuff though so in the interests of my own health, and solidarity with him, we are starting the diet today!Save £12k in 2026 #2 I have banked £2870.61 so far, against a £10k target The 2026 Save £12k in 2026 thread is here

I'm sticking with £80 a week budget and aiming to have a surplus at the end of the month. My psychology is that if I set a lower budget and go over budget then I stop even trying and go even more over budget. I'm much better at trying to keep money in the kitty.
£400 for the 5 weeks of grocery shops12 -
Thank you for running the thread elsiepac.
I'm still going by my annual budget but this month I'm trying to keep my spending down to £60. I'm going away for a long weekend where I'll contribute to food costs so I'll need spare cash.Grocery challenge 2026: £272/150010
