zing and money off vouchers not working.

I emailed tescos the other day asking why they are not being accepted.

they replyed today with this email

I can confirm that we are happy to accept coupons from brand name manufacturers, even if you have not purchased the product. The coupons, however, must be in date and Tesco must sell the items. If you present more than one identical coupon, then you must purchase the same number of products.

I need to carry out a full investigation into this matter and would be obliged if you would tell me which particular store is involved.

So that means they shouldve accepted the vouchers but for some reason the tills didnt want to.

Will let you know the outcome.

All the vouchers that should work in tescos did, with the exception of the king of shaves vouchers.

    worked:
    bic soleil
    oxy skincare
    3 x wilkinsons razor ones
    burgen bread
    best voucher

I just presumed that my particular branch didn't sell King of Shaves at the time but maybe it just isn't working right with their tills. If you can get them to get it to work then woot!
  • Tesco don't sell King Of Shaves, only Wilkinson's & Boot's sell it as far as I'm aware.

It says on the back of the voucher itself that Tesco's sell it unless they have taken it off their stock line in the time between the voucher being printed and being sold in teh magazine.

I picked up a King of Shaves tube of shaving gel and handed him the 3 King of Shaves vouchers, the till bleeped and he chucked them back at me, so I told him I had bought that item, and so he entered a £3 coupon manually, the item was only £2.97 so effectively free. Worth doing to get rid of them.
Great idea, but just wondering whether most Tesco people would only accept one £1 voucher and not all three if you're just buying the one item? Worth a try though, I guess!

  • As usual with Tescos it all depends on the person at the checkout!! I tried using my Zing vouchers along with a £3 Joey voucher (from Shredded Wheat Fruitful) and none of them were accepted.

Two days later, I took the same coupons in and lo and behold - they were accepted by a different person. Also, Waitrose took £1.50 worth of the remaining Zing vouchers off my shopping today!! I'm convinced it depends on what type of mood they are in and the type of attitude us shoppers give out!!!

PS: I did not buy any of the products stated on the vouchers!!! ;)

Went to tesco to use my tokens as I bought 7 Best magazines. Tesco would only accept one voucher. Tonight I went to ASDA, I spent £69.34, the bloke on the till took nearly all my vouchers leaving me with a bill of £2.24. I am extatic to say the least. Funnily enough though, the only vouchers he refused were 7 coupons for free muller corners, I had actually bought these, but he said sorry there is no barcode. I knew I could get someone to sort this out, but my bill would then have been 8p. I thought this would really have been kicking the backside out so I said thank you very much and left.
