Thanks for the post Janusdesign. It would be nice if Moneyhub were able to find a third party to takeover their app.
I do think the annual fee structure would need to be markedly higher than present for a new host to find it economically viable to take it over. I think I might even tolerate a degree of targeted advertising to retain the app.
On that basis I think I will reach out to Moneyhub and suggest they conduct a survey of existing users to ascertain what level of revised fees would be acceptable to keep the app in play.
This might give Moneyhub a better chance to make a realistic to pitch to potential suitors, if the subscription fee more fairly reflects the quality of the app offering. On reflection their £1.49 monthly tariff is peanuts for what we are getting.0 -
Yes, I think I would be willing to pay more for Moneyhub (maybe £5 a month?) if it was actively maintained and developed. There are a number of areas (such as reporting and charting) where functionality could be improved on what is already a solid product.

Over 50% of my accounts no longer sync without intervention, if at all. All have been reported and all just get an "oh well" response and they may fix it sometime in the future.
Unless you are only wanting to work with accounts which are fully open banking I wouldn't bother. The dashboards are no where near as good as the Money Dashboard was which unfortunately disappeared a few years ago now.
Surprisingly there really isn't a good offering out there these days.0 -

I didn't like it when I was looking for an alternative to MoneyDashboard when it closed but I haven't checked it out recently so I don't know if it has improved.0 -

Surprisingly there really isn't a good offering out there these days."intervention" as you call it is usually just entering the OTP when refreshing the connection - hardly an onerous task... I expect those connections don't support open banking and therefore MH needs to login, scrape the content of the page and parse the results back to MH - i'm not sure what you expect MH to do if that's the only way they/yodlee can get the balances etc ?!? i've never had to do that for any linked current account connections, but I guess it might be annoying/unlucky if your regularly used savings accounts need constant manual refreshing - not the end of the world, but annoying none the less.personally, i've got 100+ accounts in MH (current, savings, business, investments, cash, utilities, property etc) - the important ones all refresh without any intervention - and those that do need my involvement (19 accounts - probably only 5 or 6 connections) I can do at the weekend; the purely manual ones (50+) can get reconciled as and when.I use an excel spreadsheet to detail/reconcile my monthly interest amounts - but the thought of using a spreadsheet to give me a live snapshot of all my account balances fills me with absolute dread and would only be considered as a last resort!0
