I'll be 30 in July and really had my heart set on going to New York but was advised that July was the worst possible time to go. Can anyone suggest where would be nice at this time of year? I need some inspiration so would welcome any suggestions.
Thanks
Thanks

I'm still going to advise New York, i've spent about 5 of my birthdays there, and will be spending my 29th there in March..
July can be unbearably hot, BUT, all shops, bars and restaurants are air conditioned as should your hotel room be.
I went in sept 07, and it was hot and humid while i was there, but it was still great fun, just carry around a bottle of water with you, and something to fan yourself with.. and you'll be fiiiine...
July Weather:
Average High: 85°F (29°C)Average Low: 70°F (21°C)
July tends to be the hottest and wettest month of the year, so pack accordingly.

I would go for Marrakech, though it will be even hotter than New York!
My 30th is in September (put it in your calendars!), and I'm pondering the same question ...
I do fancy a transatlantic cruise, spending the day in the middle of the Atlantic in pure luxury ... or in complete contrast, maybe in the Sahara Desert?!!Gone ... or have I?0 -
I'm having the same problem but I will be forty in June. Not sure whether to do a once in a lifetime thing or just book a cheapy on the beach. Am toying with a week on easy cruise (greek islands) and then a week on land but can't decide. I spent my 30th in NY and it was great weather during June.0

Hi,
I turn 30 this year too and want to celebrate mine in New York but my birthday isn't till December, I went to NY for my 21st and the Xmas shopping was amazing!
I have been to NY in the summer too (June though not July), I found the weather perfectly ok, enjoyable infact, made walking round pleasant.
If you're not to keen on the heat one place U would say definatley not to go at that time of the year is Las Vegas! I went in the June after NY (was on Honeymoon) and it was so unbearably hot we slept in the day and went out at night, I have never known heat like it.
Have you thought about somewhere closer to home like Paris, Milan or Venice maybe?
Wherever you choose have a fab time!

Hello!
We got married last July and had 5 days of our honeymoon in New York - it wasn't that hot and all was fine.
Would heartily recommend the 3 hours boat trip around the whole of Manhattan as opposed to a quick trip, also, to make it extra special - I would really recommend a helicopter trip - fab!0 -
I am guessing you are planning to go with friends, a riad inmarakech would be great but will be hot. Have had really good birthdays with friends in berlin and rome, but any big city in europe could be fun0
