Letter chasing up an unpaid parking charge from Parking Eye in England - 5 years and 10 months ago

I received a “Final Reminder - Unpaid Parking charge of £155” from an overstay in a Morrisons car park 6 years ago.
I’ve had many of these letters over the years and thought they’d stopped about 2 years ago and then in the last month they’ve sent another 2 in the last month - this time from Debt Collection Bailiffs Ltd.
Is this still something they can chase me for? I’ve always ignored the letters up until now but my new partner thinks I should pay - unsure what to do!

Definitely do not pay
The deadline is 6 years from the incident date in England and Wales, under the Limitations Act 1980
Your task is to respond slowly asking for more details, one question at a time, to try to get it over the line
So in light of the above, respond in writing to DCBL , before their self imposed deadline, asking for a copy of the contract etc
Once its past the 6 year deadline, it's unenforceable in the justice system2 -
If there's only 2 months to the 6 year statute of limitation, then there is no way they can issue a claim now. They would first have to send an LoC and all you would have to do is respond on day 29 with a request for a 30 day extension to seek debt advice. End of!4

Let it time out and only respond to an LBC from DCB Legal (not DCBL) and you'd reply exactly as shown in bold in @LDast's post. That'll get it over the line. End of scam!PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

As said above ..... fo not be scared by the word BAILIFFS .... that cannot happen until it goes to court and you lost. It's just DCBL playing their silly games again
Time it out ... End Of1 -
I mean they could ignore the protocol and commence proceedings. There's no penalty for that which has teeth...
As others note, invoke every question/time extension you reasonably can to see if you can time it out. Limitation is a complete defence.3 -
Hi folks, thanks for all your previous advice - it’s very much appreciated.
I received this letter today - just a week before the 6 year statute of limitations! Is it best to ignore this as I have every other letter or should I respond with a request to seek debt advice?Thank you!!1 -
Yes ignore in full1
