Hey Everyone,

I put an offer in on Saturday afternoon for a warden assisted flat for my Dad. The young girl that answered my call advised that she was not qualified to put the offer forward, but her colleague will give me a ring first thing Monday morning to discuss before putting the offer forward to the vendor. I gave her all the information needed to put the offer in.

Its now Tuesday afternoon and despite many phone calls to the agents, no one has called us back. This is really distressing for my Dad as it has taken me so long to persuade him to move.

He currently lives in a park home and I sold it this weekend to a cash buyer who is ready to go.

Im seriously considering putting a bad review on Google as I can see they have done this a few times to past clients.

Does anyone know if three days is considered a reasonable amount of time to put the offer forward?

At the moment all you can say is that they dont manage expectations well/dont reply to callback requests. For all you know the agent on Monday saw they had all they needed and put the offer forward and is now awaiting a response from the vendor.

Can you contact the vendor and ask if they have received your offer?

Perhaps the EA has put the offer forward and is waiting a response. Prior to speaking to you.

We get so used to instant things these days -  banks, Ebay - and next day delivery is the norm.   When you have a human chain things seem to be at a snail pace.

Perhaps the EA has advised the vendor who has other things on his/her mind at the moment - perhaps executing the will.

Be patient -  it's only Tuesday.

  • I ended up putting the query on X and go a call within 5 minutes. They claimed that there was no one in the office to put the offer forward. More lies, as a young girl confirmed to me that they had arrived into work on the Monday at 11am.
They are now putting the offer in today so finally we have got there but not sure how the communication is going to work going forward. Thanks everyone for your suggestions

I think EA offices have quite a high turnover of staff.
Maybe somebody just left or got sacked? Who knows?
All you can do is keep a close eye on them.
