Blue badge not valid on private road no parking ticket originally sent

Parked on double yellow with Blue Badge.

Got a letter a few months ago telling me I'd ignored the parking ticket and now it was being escalated. I did ask them to prove they sent the originals but they never did.

Even though this road is a through road and looks like any other road, apparently, its not a road maintained by the council so Blue Badges don't apply. Hmmm.

I've now had a letter from BW legal asking for £170. What to do next?

I did email Greggs (who  I was visiting) and they basically said "nothing to do with me Guv".

And the name of the  parking company is  ?  ( who is "they"  )

They are correct,  the blue badge has little or no authority on private property,  including private roads,  its just a visible indicator of an occupant having a disability  ( study the blue badge booklet   )

You definitely do not pay the £170

Is the latest letter a Letter of Claim giving you 30 days notice   ?

Can you find the road on Google Maps and check for any signs? Without prominent signage warning about parking charges they have no basis to claim.

PPC's change their stance on Blue Badges to suit the scam at the location on the day.
It is quite reasonable for a motorist seeing DYL's that are a copy of an authority designated parking restriction indicator referenced in the highway code, to believe that it means the same on such a road.
But once again the PPC bends the rules to suit the scam, and this is a prime example of how they introduce confusion to trap you.
Was the signage sufficient and complying to the ATA's COP to show that the DYL's were not the same as on a normal road?
Was the road sufficiently signed up as private property at both ends with the relevant warnings about the terms and conditions and charges etc?

Too right. This will be easy to defend if it goes to court but we need to know which PPC, to advise better.
PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
