Hi all
Is there such as thing as an electricity tariff with cheaper off peak rates when you don't have an EV or storage heaters?
I'm a potter and have just moved production back home after renting a unit. I fire two big kilns 3/4 times a week. Are there any suppliers that will give me an off peak tariff so I can fire overnight? I can only find EV tariffs which I don't have. I have an S1 smart meter if that makes any difference.

Have you looked at the standard E7 tariffs for your region to see if that might work as a starting point? You’ll need to do some thinking about how much of your other use you can time-shift to make the most of it too as you’d be paying more during the day of course, but depending on how flexible your lifestyle is, that might be workable for you?🎉 MORTGAGE FREE (First time!) 30/09/2016 🎉 And now we go again…New mortgage taken 01/09/23 🏡

How long does it take for your kilns to get to temperature ? Is 7 hours enough ?Never pay on an estimated bill. Always read and understand your bill0

Almost all energy suppliers will do an E7 tariff with cheaper overnight rates.
You have to be aware that daytime prices will be higher though, so moving water heating, use of washer, dryer, dishwasher etc. overnight too will help with the costs.Barnsley, South Yorkshire
