Disposing of old wooden conservatory

Hello I have just been informed that I cannot use a skip to dispose of my wooden conservatory, any advice how I can dispose of it would be welcome, thanks in advance

Who told you that, and did they explain why?

Why can't it go in a skip? Otherwise you could sell it if it's still got potential, or have a great big bonfire.

Have you carefully taken it down or smashed it up? What state is it in, particularly the wood?

If it's junk then there are plenty of private refuse collectors that will take it, it's normally charged by weight. If it's in good condition then someone may buy it as is or at least buy the wood. We took down a wooden mezzanine floor we'd built, was able to sell the main beams for much more than it cost to get rid of the broken chipboard floor and all the other junk that we had in the studio.

If the skip company won’t take it, you could try a local waste transfer station—some accept timber for a fee. Another option is breaking it down and listing it on Facebook Marketplace or Freecycle; someone might take it for firewood or reuse. Failing that, a man-and-van waste removal service could be worth a look.

One should not burn treated or painted wood either in a stove or on a bonfire.

Treasure the moments that you have. Savour them for as long as you can for they will never come back again.

I use this company to remove large amounts of junk when clearing out my garage https://www.anyjunk.co.uk/

Yeah, on a hindsight that probably wasn't the best piece of advice. Lots of chemicals there in paint and varnish.
