Morning again,it's dry here, a bit cloudy, but not a bad morning. Yesterday was nice.
I met up with friends and we had a good natter, I'll be seeing them both tonight at the quiz!
This morning I think I'll go for a quick whizz round the shops in the high street, and that's about it for today.
Hope everyone else is all right, thoughts to our sad and poorly ones.
Take care folks.13 -
Thanks for the start Scarlet
Yesterday was utter madness at work, shouldn’t complain as it was only one day but I was so tired I fell asleep in the bath 😂
DMum’s birthday today so there’ll be coffee and cake at a garden centre somewhere and I’ll try to get motivated to do some other jobs , craft shop work and chores. There’s blue sky here but won’t shout that too loudly in case it disappears again.Best wishes to all

Morning all
Pouring with rain here and feels very cold the heating might have to go on for an extra blast before my guests come, three people today and they have requested bowling and a walk along the canal, the rain is meant to stop mid morning so I hope that’s correct.
The meeting went well yesterday I have a H&S check in the next few weeks and then that’s all the official bits done for a while.
Dinner tonight will be salmon I think I might do a vegetable rice with it for a change, I will nip in and do some shopping after dropping my people off. DD is off today so she will help put the shopping away which is another job I dislike 😬
Have good days all and take care xx13 -
Good morning
Bright start to the day, but chilly only 1 degree. Yesterday was mainly dry with a few showers, and when it did rain it was sudden and heavy.
Today I'm off to meet up with a friend, after she has done her "keep fat" class as she calls it. She is bringing a bag of books she's finished with, so I'll be sorting those out later. We have mainly the same taste in books, but any I know I won't read will go to the CS.
No idea what's for tea, will have a look in the freezer.
Have a good day all, and hugs to all who need them.

Morning everyone, quiet today. The cars are frozen this morning but it ended up being a beautiful day after early rain yesterday. We both got our new specs & then went for some lunch. It was so busy in the renovated restaurant, we had to queue. We didn't need much tea but we'd had a quick call in at Mr T for a few essentials and I spotted a reduced Quiche Lorraine so had a bit of that cold with coleslaw.DGS was chatty on the way home, and seemed to have had a good 1st day back
When we got back home I popped next door to see how the patient is doing, with luck he may be home from hospital today. She apologised for the late night barking when her OH was being assessed by the paramedics, but little dog was quiet and affectionate & wanting cuddles off me yesterday
I'm going to make a pork and apple casserole for later, sausages for DS.Hope it's a good day for you all, enjoy half term @dp1, and others on trips.:heartsmil 'A woman is like a teabag: You never know her strength until you drop her in hot water'. (Eleanor Roosevelt)11 -
Morning folks and thanks SCARLET. A bit grey out there but no rain forecast until tomorrow. No rain yesterday either we are getting spoilt!!
I need to go back into town again this morning - this time with my boxing gloves on! I picked my meds up yesterday, to be told my main BP meds are still unavailable and no alternative given this time as, despite having the script for 2 weeks, they had still not spoken to the surgery about it! I unpacked all the rest when I got home, only to find more tabs missing but no owing slip given for those! So off back down again this morning to sort that out! Grrr!
No Tuesday lunch again today as DF and her ailing DH finally saw a doctor yesterday and were given the news one of his many problems pointed to Parkinsons and he has been referred to Neurology. She has suspected this for a while so is quite relieved that at least one of his problems is being addressed at last. She has had a lot to put up with over the years and is feeling drained by it all.
Have a good day folks if you can and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Happy Birthday Allie's mum, enjoy your lunch. DP1 I hope your DGD keeps well and can enjoy her London trip. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"12 -
Morning everyone
It was a lovely sunny day yesterday and it's forecast to be the same today - were getting spoilt!
I have some jobs to do this morning and then I'm meeting a friend for coffee and cake this afternoon - I haven't seen her for a while so it will involve a lot of chat!
I'm hoping dads' music player arrives today so I can get it sorted - it looks easy to put the music on so I'm hoping it is! I think he'll enjoy it and, as it's designed for people with dementia, he should be able to use it himself.
Bridget Jones was so good yesterday, I really enjoyed it - our little cinema was almost full.
Right, best get on. I hope everyone has a good day today x11 -
Morning all, the sun is out this morning woo hoo ! Trouble is I said that yesterday then it clouded over in the afternoon and then we were back to heavy rain.
All was ok with the car yesterday so that's good and I did lots of small jobs around the house. Today I'm going up to Dad's for a coffee and pay his electric bill online. He was complaining that his left side wouldn't work properly when I rang him last night so I'm wondering if he's had another small stroke again. If it stays dry we'll pop and check on our caravan afterwards. Tea tonight will be bacon, sausage and egg etc.
TA sorry about your meds, it's a pain to get them sorted here too, I never seem to get the same ones twice. I'll hold your coat while you box !!
RedRuby good news about the meeting.
AA happy birthday to Mum.
Scarlet good luck at the quiz, thinking heads on.
Have a good day everyone, hugs to anyone in need.

Morning all. Today's weather looks like being a bit of a mixed bag - showers late morning to early afternoon with possible sunny intervals late afternoon, followed by a chilly night.
Yesterday looked so nice out that I did go to Argos after all. It was quite Spring-like, so much so that I had to take off my gloves and scarf after a while. First I popped into Sainsburys for a few essentials and then collected two things from Argos - a bottle of carpet shampoo and another lampshade, this time for the back bedroom turned office. I've replaced all the fabric lampshades over the years and now have either glass or metal ones as they're easier to clean. The fabric ones always end up looking grubby after a while, despite brushing etc.
I want to clean the living room windows today (inside only) and have a batch of net curtains to go in the WM. After that, just general pottering. Tea tonight is cooked gammon slices from the freezer, egg and spicy wedges and maybe a cheeky custard tart for afters.
It seems quiet on here today but I think quite a few are on holiday, mini breaks or day trips with it being half term in some places. Ours was last week.
@AA - Happy birthday to your DM, enjoy the coffee and cake.
@Ruby - Glad your meeting yesterday went well. You're obviously doing a good job!
@TA - That's a right kerfuffle with the tablets, I wish you better success today. It's a shame about the Tuesday lunch meet up too and I hope the referral to Neurology for your friend's DH happens sooner rather than later.
@Nanny - Elderly parents can be such a worry, fingers crossed for a good visit to your Dad today.
Right, I need to make a start on those dratted windows - the sooner started, the sooner finished. Stay safe and well, take care. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Hi everyone,
Sorry for being mia again, it's been busy as usual. The family got back from London in time for Laura's birthday dinner - can't believe she's 42, it seems no time at all since she was Esther's age.
Yesterday I was looking forward to a quiet day when Laura, who had taken Esther to nursery came back with her, she had been sick just as they arrived. She was a bit limp for a couple of hours, was sick again and then recovered and was her usual bouncy self for the rest of the day. This morning both L & B had early starts so Steve took Esben to school and then we had an SOS call from Chris and Crystal, her car wouldn't start and they both needed to work so Steve headed across there to take Nate to nursery and have a look at her car. so it's just me and Esther hanging out today, she's pretending to be a little cat called Kitty.
I saw the GP yesterday and she was a great help in going through the medication I'd been prescribed and the reason for it. I asked for a face to face appointment because I thought I'd forget something on the phone and I must admit our surgery seems to be coping much better than a lot of places, none of us have been denied an appointment when we've needed it. People are always complaining on Facebook about the other surgery in town.
Best wishes to all the poodles and people who are sad. I hope you are ok Derek.
Have a good day.11
