My initial thought was Download - but the "since 2006" excludes thatHoenir said:Which Festival is it?

mud everywhere, overflowing portaloos and drunk/stoned people everywhere you meanIf the venue could have found out about the festival, surely you could have done the same and booked a different date accordingly? I do sympathise but I don't think you can reasonably blame the venue. But it's a long time away and maybe you can switch dates at a minimal cost. If not, why not make a feature of it - come to our wedding and get the festival experience for free!0 -
What's the area inbetween like - houses, forests or open field? Is it 2 miles or 2.9 miles?
As you mentioned you wanted to do wedding outdoor then your music will likely hide some of the quiet sounds coming in. Also, if it placed towards the festival side or the opposite?
Traffic? Not sure what the problem here, there could be one without the festival..1 -
It will depend to a significant extent on the wind direction (and strength). Obviously there is no way of knowing that until a few days before hand. The most common wind direction in England is south westerly (hence the layout of most airfield runways) but any direction remains a possibility.user1977 said:How noisy do you think a festival 2km away is going to be? Neither. It's about 1¼ miles.Newbie_John said:What's the area inbetween like - houses, forests or open field? Is it 2 miles or 2.9 miles?
A miles is bigger than a kilometer. 2 km isn't 2.9 miles, it's the other way round - 2.9 km is about 2 miles.1 -
Mountain and molehill spring to mind.We have a festival in our small town every August and I never hear a thing from our house. I’ve just used my garmin app to check how far it is from me and it’s 1.10km.0

Hoenir said:Which Festival is it?Is it Kendal Calling OP? In which case the venue is probably Askham Hall. Actually, if I'm right, other than the travel aspect (and most people roll up on the Thursday rather than at the weekend) I wouldn't worry too much. The sound really isn't particularly intrusive (I live close by) especially during the day when presumably you're having the main event. The woods around the deer park tend to deaden the sound. There's usually a wedding or three at the Hall whilst the festival is on and I don't think the wedding parties concerned have any particular issues. But they're a nice lot at the Hall and may well be sympathetic to changing the date for you.1
