Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help me please. A couple of years ago our council built a bedroom downstairs for our little boy using a dfg. He's recently been diagnosed with epilepsy so his OT has now said he needs a wetroom built so another DFG. Does anyone know does this result in another land chand charge? Do I have to tell Halifax about these land charges, I asked permission from them before agreeing to the works but never mentioned the land charge? Will these charges effect me getting a new fixed rate with Halifax in future? Thank you in advance!

I would expect that any charge on the house should have been notified to the mortgage provider. I wonder if this question better be asked on the mortgage board along with the information about the circumstances in which the grant would need to be repaidAll shall be well, and all shall be well, and all manner of things shall be well.

I will try that thank you. Weird thing is the land charge isn't showing on the land registry so perhaps it's only if we move!0

I am just about to have my second set of DFG works on my home.
My understanding is a second land charge will be made. In my area the charge money is only owed if i sell my home within a set period of time. It also reduces a little as time goes on. I think its 10 years here but wouldnt bet on it.
So one of mine should run out soon and the new one take over1 -
Thanks everyone for your replies. Very helpful!0
