Constant new photos arriving on my Samsung Galaxy gallery?

Despite periodic removal of unwanted photos on my mobile phone gallery, new photos appear, mostly not of my taking but from unknown sources!
How can I stop this happening please?

could be lots of different reasons - but here’s one possibility. 

Do you have a WhatsApp account? The default setting in WhatsApp is for received images to be copied to your camera roll / gallery. If you’re a member of a WhatsApp group that you’ve muted (don’t look at) then the images would still appear in the gallery.  

Maybe there are other communications channels that work the same way.

Thanks, but these images appear to be repeats which I have deleted before?

You can turn off media visibility for a certain group chat so these images won't appear in your phone's gallery. But you can find them in the WhatsApp Images folder in the file manager. Or you can directly disable media auto-download in WhatsApp settings.

Some gallery apps scan every image directory on the device, including cache folders from browsers, social apps and adverts. Deleting them is pointless because the app regenerates caches. Fix: use the gallery settings to hide specific folders.

If the phone is linked to Google Photos, iCloud, OneDrive or similar, deleting a picture in the phone’s local gallery doesn’t necessarily delete it in the cloud. When the phone syncs again, the cloud simply restores what it thinks is the correct state

Are they all in the same Album. If so what is it?...It should have a description if they are.
