Constant new photos arriving on my Samsung Galaxy gallery?

Despite periodic removal of unwanted photos on my mobile phone gallery, new photos appear, mostly not of my taking but from unknown sources!
How can I stop this happening please?

could be lots of different reasons - but here’s one possibility.
Do you have a WhatsApp account? The default setting in WhatsApp is for received images to be copied to your camera roll / gallery. If you’re a member of a WhatsApp group that you’ve muted (don’t look at) then the images would still appear in the gallery.Maybe there are other communications channels that work the same way.2 -
