Sky price increase less than 2 weeks after price negotiation

Hi

I negotiated my Sky Broadband renewal at the end of February.
Less than 2 weeks later they increased the prices!!

Are they allowed to do this?

Thanks

If you don’t like it you have two ‘outs’ ( ways to exit  the new deal ) , using the cooling off period , or because Sky still offer the option to quit penalty free on notification of the price increase, you can cancel your new deal using that .

TBH , I don't know why you are surprised, Sky doesn’t say the price is fixed for the duration of the minimum term , and if they put their prices up annually in March , anyone joining Sky or re-contracting  in the early part of the year will only be on the initial price for a short time , if you didn’t want an increase so soon , you should have stayed out of contract until March , then negotiated , then that price wouldn’t increase for around a year , but you would pay more for the out of contract months .

I'm surprised because i didnt expect them to raise the prices about 7 days after negotiating a price - simple as.

This is on their website, "From April, our TV and broadband packages will increase by an average of 6.2%,"

As you renewed with Sky , presumably this renewal was linked to the anniversary of the expiry of a previous 12/24 month deal , so you had a similar price increase in March last year , ( around 12 months ago )  , so this annual increase shouldn’t have really been a surprise, I dare say the paperwork they sent you did show the increase , or at least said your price would  go up in March .
Unfortunately you assumed that you had fixed your price , but that’s your mistake for not checking, and not theirs for explicitly saying the price is only till March , the T&C’s do show that

They reneged on a verbal deal - so it was a surprise.

So cancel under the cooling off period and take your business elsewhere.

UPDATE: I wrote a letter of complaint, and I was offered not only the pre-increase price but about £10 extra off a month too. So my advice to others, writing a letter is better than chat!
