Morning all - thanks for starting us off @Scarlet.It's an extremely wild outside, the yellow weather warning was correct for a change. The wind is howling, rain is coming straight off the Atlantic and the sky is grey. I'm not heading off until this afternoon so I'm hoping for it to blow over by then. For the next two days I'm won't be too far from home, just having a change of scene.Yesterday I did a quick trip north to post off a return and came straight home again, didn't buy anything at all. Whilst I watched Whisky Galore and Passport to Pimlico (again) the washing machine chugged away. Everything is now on the airer and bannister.I hope that everyone is able to stay safe and warm in this dreadful and dreary day. Hugs to all.12

Morning All
Thanks for the start Scarlet.
The weather is absolutely horrendous this morning, a very strong wind and rain battering the window, glad I got some outside jobs done yesterday.
I had a walk down to our little town, took the soft plastic and glass recycling and changed library books - one I've just about given up on already!
It was nice to get out and have some fresh air, the weather was really quite pleasant. Gave the greenhouse a good clean and tidy and sowed some seeds. I had an urge for some sorting so went up into the loft and got a couple of big boxes of pictures down, the last house was vast so there was lots of space of photos, etc. I've been here 11 years and they haven't been looked at so I took them all out of the frames - now there's a big pile of frames to make a decision on. Mostly wood frames but I now prefer black or white so I may pass them on, doesn't seem worth painting them.
Hope you had a better day yesterday Nanny.
Hugs to you Mehefin.
Safe travels Gers.
Nothing planned today apart from maybe a swim this morning - more decluttering on the cards!
Take care. XX10 -
Morning again, your weather sounds pretty rough Gers, hope you'll be ok. Yesterday was a lovely day here, a bit warmer than usual, sunny, and with a breeze that dried my washing! Sadly today is going to be cloudy with rain I believe.
I did some shopping, just in our High street, didn't need much.
Nice to see your post Nanny.
Glad your dad was ok Dp1.
Nothing much going on today here.
Hope the holidaymakers have fun, and thoughts to our sad and poorly people.
Take care folks10 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @ScarletRibbons
Feels quite cold at the moment but forecast says we should have 9 degrees today and no rain,
Nothing much planned, may have a walk
take care

Good morning
Yesterday I went with DH to Screwfix (he knows how to spoil me), mainly because there's some woods nearby we could have a trek with big dog in. The weather was glorious, sunny and just like a spring day. Then we came home to chicken wraps with salad. The day was only marred later by OH insisting I'd too him something I hadn't. I could even recall the conversation, but no, he was right. Men! Still, I beat him at the 1% club last night, so there!
Today is back to wet and windy weather, although not as bad as up north. Roast beef for dinner, and I'll make a bread pudding while the ovens on with odds and ends of bread I found in the freezer. Then Call the Midwife.
Mehefin, I echo what others have said, we're all hear to listen. Hugs
Dp1, hope mum, dad and little one are ok.
Have a good Sunday all whatever you're doing.10 -
Morning folks AGAIN!! Just lost a load of waffle about nothing in particular, not worth typing it all again! It's the calm before the storm here. All calm and grey but gusty wind and heavy rain is on the way according to forecast. A lovely bright and sunny day yesterday but sadly those days are few and far between this winter.
I have the bed to strip next and will get all the bedding washed and festoon the upstairs to dry. I have some sprouting potatoes to use up so I have got a shepherd's pie base out to defrost and will top with mash from the sad looking spuds for my lunch.
Have a good day if you can folks and fingers crossed there is no damage from the gusty winds. GERS you drive safely for the start of your few days away. Thinking of our poorlies, sad or lonely. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"11 -
Morning all. A so so day here; not wet but looks cold out.
We're off to Costco later this morning plus I'll pick up some things at a supermarket nearby. Made a few biscuits yesterday but we've already eaten over half of them!
Nothing major going on here otherwise so will watch the rugby later and DH will cook a Sunday roast using two of the chicken legs we got from the Larder.
Hope everyone's day goes well.12 -

Morning all. Beautiful sunny day yesterday, but as usual its been turned off today!
Been a pretty horrible couple of days as you know but I am coming to terms with things. What was done had to be done but it doesn't make it any easier. The hardest part is every time I go into the stables and she's not there - and that really is upsetting. However the other two still need my care and attention so I must focus on them.
Trying to keep myself busy so yesterday spent a lot of time at the library sorting out our new planters. Took some rotten logs to fill them up a bit ( otherwise the amount of material required would be colossal), and later took two bags of poo off the muck heap, plus 8 bags of topsoil I had squirrelled away . Planted 2 dwarf fruit tress and just made it look tidy. Jury is out on what we may put in the rest of the planters. The pallets the furniture came on may be repurposed into vertical planters if they are any good. Need to do an websearch for ideas.
Spent a nice evening at my fellow Trustee's home and had a break from horsey stuff.
Hope the poodles are on the road to recovery
Hugs and spoons as always
