I would echo the comment about getting advice from citizens advice. My wife sits down with them and they go through the form filling it out with her.

    A little update guys.

We received a PIP letter to acknowledge that they had received a reconsideration form.  We did not send anymore evidence, just updated my partners needs (pill box, toilet raiser, etc).  Does anyone know roughly the response time is for a reconsideration?
    Thanks

    ** UPDATE **

So my partner received an SMS on Thursday  (08/05/25) telling her that someone from DWP will be calling her that day to discuss the new evidence sent back in February.  She did later that day get a phone call and spoke to a lovely from DWP or the assessor company and said that a decision will be made by that afternoon.  Today we contacted DWP and got an automated message saying that she has been awarded for the care allowance.
I guess we just have to wait for the letter to be delivered to find out the exact details (ie, how long is the award for).
Whats the chances of the award being backdated to the date that the reconsideration letter was received by the DWP?

    Thanks

Good news. It should be backdated to the date of the claim.
