When I try to access the BBC news webpage via my Windows 10 PC it always opens on the BBC log in page for my account. My PC is set to remember BBC cookies when I close down bnut I do not actively log out of my BBC account, I just exit the internet.
When I access BBC news on my (Android) phone it opens the news page without requiring me to log into my BBC account.
When I access BBC iplayer on my ("smart") TV I don't have to log into my BBC account presumably because (I think) I have never logged out on my TV.
can anyone suggest where I have gone wrong?
As a recent convert to "smart" phones could it be that I have mucked up "synchronisation" as frankly I had no idea what that meant so ticked yes only phone but have not changed anything on my PC?

Are you using the same browser each time you go to the BBC site? It’s the browser not the website that sets the cookie and Chrome won’t read Edge cookies etc.
Are you viewing in Private mode? Cookies won’t stick in Private mode.

Have you ever used the Account Page to log in?BBC are always suggesting that I 'log in' for the news and bbc sounds but you don't have to for either of those. If you have once logged in it could be that it's become attached somehow.I take it you've checked through your cookies to see if it's there.
I can rise and shine - just not at the same time!

All other websites operate correctly (Edge browser)
I do wonder if it is because I have lost track of which Microsoft account I am working "inside of" when on PC or phone?
I think they are probably different ones, but that would not explain why only the BBC cookie fails to remember yet the others work OK, see extract from PC settings:0 -
I'm wondering if your entry for www.bbc.co.uk also applies to bbc.co.uk.0
