Morning everyone and 'thank you' for starting us off Gers.
We have had rain in the night, but it's looking ok atm.
Hope everyone has a lovely weekend. x15 -
Good morning, thanks for the start Gers.
It's dry, not frosty, not blowing a gale, not used to this.
Not a lot going on today, just the usual jobs.
Thinking of you Mehefin, you weren't being maudlin, but simply telling us how you feel. We are all here to listen. As Chrisca said this is a caring supportive group, so keep talking if you want to.
We were supposed to be going to a birthday party tonight, one of the extended family, but Dh falls asleep a lot in the evenings particularly, because of the hormone treatment he's on, so is not the ideal guest. We've cancelled, but I know there'll be other meet ups.
YorksLass, I agree with you about avoiding tv sport - I avoid it all, Olympics, Wimbledon, Cup Finals, you name it.
Hope everyone has as good a day as they can, thinking of our sad and poorly people.
Take care folks.14 -
The earlier light in the mornings is so lovely even if the sky is grey and rather grim. Yesterday was a complete washout from start to finish. I only went out briefly, walked about 10 yards and got more than a little wet.I've already changed the bedding, it must be my most hated chore though getting into clean fresh sheets is the joy, and I'll set it off shortly. My next chore is to post back some new shoes which are far too narrow for my plates of meat
and then I have a wee breakfast at my favourite cafe again. On the way back I'll drop off two jumpers for the rag bag, they are too far gone for giving to a CS, I have others waiting on the spare bedroom floor for handing over next week.
Later I'll do a little light packing for my gallivanting, two sets of two nights away so will need to be organised and count knickers properly.I hope that all our poorlies and those who are sad, including friends and family, can manage to have a better day. Hugs to all.14 -
Morning allOff to finish packing in a little while then later off to a hotel at Heathrow to stay overnight as we have an early flight in the morning.{{hugs}} to anyone who needs one. Keep safe all and I'll see you when we're back from our galivanting! xx14

Morning All
Thanks for the start Gers, enjoy your trip.
Bright and dry this morning with a bit of a breeze - maybe the washing will dry outside today. I'm going to open all the windows in a bit for a good blow through to get all the germs away!
Yesterday didn't see much action here but today will be better. I have some broad beans to sow - it was too wet yesterday to go out to the greenhouse, return some library books and have a general tidy round in the garden. I would start cleaning the windows but we are due strong winds and rain again tomorrow so I would be wasting my time.
Mehefin, come on here for a good moan if it helps, we're all here to listen.
Enjoy your holiday Chrisca, where are you off to?
Hope everyone is well and you have a good weekend. Take care. XX16 -
Morning folks and thanks GERS. Safe travel for the gallivanters. Enjoy your trips.
Yesterday wasn't as bad as predicted. Although windy not as strong as forecast and only light rain. This morning it's a lovely start with blue sky and the sun already shining. Downhill again tomorrow!
Supermarket sweep with DS this morning. I have quite a long list for a change but it's mostly household stuff and toiletries! Plus fridge stuff. Strictly no frozen food! If the sun keeps shining this afternoon I might finally make a start on garden tidying. Nothing too strenuous though, those days have gone sadly.
Have a good day folks and ((HUGS)) for our poorlies, sad or lonely. Derek, as others have said, we are all here to listen and over the years I think most of us have lost beloved pets, big and small, and understand how you are feeling. Take care all, stay safe xx"If you dream alone it will remain just a dream. But if we all dream together it will become reality"14 -
Good morning
Thank you for the start @Gers
Yesterday was quite mild but rain overnight.
Decided I've too much stuff, so I must start going through it all. Do I really need 20 mugs?
@mehefin don't apologise, you've been through so much. Everyone on this group is caring and here to support you. Take care of yourself.
If you walk at night no-one will see you cry.12 -
Morning everyone it’s dry and bright hurrah bit of a panic last night thought the boiler wasn’t working we had hot water but no heating got in touch with the heating engineer we use to ask him to come as soon as possible sorted it this morning someone has pressed the thermostat and reduced the temperature it kicked in of course it’s my fault but never mind it’s sorted was dreading the bill .enjoy your holiday Chrisca can’t wait to hear about it Gers enjoy your little trip we are supposed to be going up to Northumberland for two weeks next Saturday and the man who owns the cottage we are going in rang me last night and asked if we could go on the Friday instead and come back on the Friday as he’s got tickets for the match for the Sunday they want to travel down on the Saturday early and it will be a rush for them to get in and clean and travel down later it makes no difference to us so I said yes but we are booked to go for a week in September I haven’t paid for that yet but he’s took 50 pounds of the price as a thank you so we are all happy. Morning everyone
Well today the sun is supposed to come out, the wind has dropped down to a normal breeze and I'm going to hang my washing outside!
I was at work yesterday afternoon, checked my phone and had just missed a call from dads' care company. Rang back - the carer had gone in, dad was sitting on the floor in the hallway and mam was nowhere to be seen. Luckily DD was at home so she went up, another carer came to help lift him up, dad said mam 'had just disappeared!'
So DD and little one stayed with him, and the carer went into town to look for her - she found her after an hour or so obliviously having a wander round the shops and brought her home. By this time, DD should have left for her appointment in Edinburgh, so had to cancel it. I was glad to get home for a cup of tea after work!
I'll go down to check theyre both ok this morning, then little one will come up for a play at some point. She starts on her new milk feeds this morning, hopefully they'll give her more energy.
Best get on, hop everyone has a good day x15 -
Morning all. Dry and a bit brighter looking here today.
Managed to get to a bank branch yesterday and they are going to send me new log in paperwork for the account that isn't currently recognising me! Luckily there's no rush for that.
Other than that it was a quiet day yesterday but I did make a tasty chicken and chick pea curry, the smell of which is still lingering in the kitchen. There's plenty left for another day and maybe even a bit to freeze. I have the other two chicken legs to cook tomorrow so I expect they'll be roasted.
Today I'll be shopping locally in the morning and then settling down to watch the rugby.12
