Wing Mirror Adjustability & MOT

Options
A while ago, some clown hit the driver side wing mirror on my car. The glass was taken clean off, along with the outer casing of the wing mirror unit. The unit itself is still completely attached to the car.

I replaced the glass, but unfortunately the wing mirror itself is no longer adjustable.

The car is due an MOT in a few weeks time, and before I shell out on on a whole new unit, could someone tell me whether or not this is likely to be a fail?

Many Thanks in advance.

I don't know, but ring up and ask an MOT test centre, or even go there and show it to them, which is what I did with a headlamp with a cracked lens.

from the informatio you only need one mirror of the 3 indicated, which I assume you will have 2 (interior + passenger side). So, as long as your driver's door mirror is safe you should be OK.

having just spoken to my mechanic wno is an MOT tester he informs me that as long as the mirror glass is intact then it is NOT an MOT fail,
    hope this helps

should you not get it fixed anyway.it is an important item of safety equipment after all
  • Thankyou all for the information.

I do plan to get it fixed, but with both MOT & tax coming up, being able to budget it in later on would be helpful..
