ESA to UC

So I applied for UC as I was migrated over from the support group ESA and told to claim UC. I got my first statement today and it's deducted by nearly £500. After ringing around all morning, I've been told I'm only getting some UC as they've moved me over to New Style ESA?! I thought when I applied for UC the ESA would stop.
Now, I'm getting one payment a month from UC and 2 x payments fortnightly of £270 of NS ESA.
Ia that common? Are there any drawbacks of it being split like this and not 100% UC?
Thanks

Yes some people that are claiming ESA and think that all of it is income Related found out that part of it was contributions based. When this happens the CB part will revert to New style ESA and continue to be paid fortnightly at a lower rate than previously. £276.40/fortnight.
The ESA is deducted in full from UC at a rate of £598.86/month due to there being 4.3 weeks in a
month, not 4 weeks.
UC then tops up your income. Going forward for future reviews they will be done through UC and it will be the same process as always.
