Conveyancing for a freehold ground floor flat with a lease

I am using FixMyLegals to purchase a flat, they are saying that they are having problems finding a solicitor that can deal with our purchase of a ground floor flat which owns the freehold of the two flats, GFF and FFF, but which also has a lease of over 900 years. Is this an uncommon situation? Not sure whether to try and source a solicitor elsewhere. Any help would be gratefully received.

Contact a few local conveyancing solicitors. Send them an email explaining what you've explained above (plus details of price) etc, and they'll probably send you a quote back within a few hours.
Can any of your friends/family recommend anyone?
Did an estate agent refer you to the 'middleman' company that you mention? If so, the estate agent will get a cut of the legal fees that you pay, and the 'middleman' company will get another cut of the legal fees you pay.
So you might get better value for money by going direct to a solicitor - because they won't have to pay a chunk of your fees to anyone else.

Unusual but very far from unique, saw it many times when looking at flat conversions where the owner converted the house into flats and sold one of the flats as leasehold but retained the freehold on their former home and a lease on the second flatcuthbert1998 said:I am using FixMyLegals to purchase a flat, they are saying that they are having problems finding a solicitor that can deal with our purchase of a ground floor flat which owns the freehold of the two flats, GFF and FFF, but which also has a lease of over 900 years. Drop the middlemen and go direct to a conveyancer0
