Morning all. Dull and damp again here.
I'm trying to make an audiology appointment about my ear, which feels a bit strange and I'm not hearing properly. I hope it's only wax but will try to phone in a while and hope I can be seen soon.
Yesterday we had a wild and wet day at Whipsnade but made the most of it and saw more than we thought. Also did the steam train ride and DGS2 had a toddle around the aquarium and butterfly building. Took ages to warm up afterwards though and I still felt damp when we got home.
Today I have some chicken to make into a curry; hopefully enough for a couple of days and I might make a cake.
Hugs to all the poodles and thinking of you Derek.

Morning everyone
Well it was milder here yesterday but blowing a gale, as it still is this morning. I'll get blown down the hill to mam and dads.
Last day before half term today, I'm more than ready for a week off. I really enjoyed the live Eastenders last night, did anyone else watch it?
Little one hasn't started her new feeding plan yet as the new milk hasn't been delivered, hopefully it will arrive today. I'm looking after her later when DD goes to speak to the psychologist about her, not sure yet if it's at my house or theirs.
Right I need to make a couple of phone calls before I go down to mam and dads, hope you all have a good day x11 -
Morning all
Its been raining most of the night but seems to have stopped for now, was rudely awakened from my lay in this morning by some scaffolders who needed access to our garden to replace some tiles on next doors roof, I knew they were coming just didn’t know when oh well I can always have a nana nap later.
I will get the dogs out this morning and then hoover through then hopefully have a rest later, not sure about dinner tonight but we have plenty in I have put a wash on this morning which will have to go on the airer.
Thinking of Mehefin this morning xx
Have good days all and take care xx10 -

Morning all. Yesterday's weather turned out better than I expected or was forecast as we had a decent amount of sunshine, apart from a downpour mid-afternoon - not what I would call a "light shower". Today is the usual grey and miserable and looks set to be wet all day.
I've sent in the meter readings and usage is roughly the same as last month; 15 units less on electricity but 7 units more on gas, so the total cost should be more or less the same as January. While I was outside reading the gas meter I noticed welcome signs of Spring - there are tulips and hyacinths appearing in the planters on the patio and a couple of clumps of daffodils that are in bud in the grassed area. And we seem to have more blackbirds this year too which makes a pleasant change from the ever-present magpies and wood pigeons.
Last night I was struggling to find something to watch on TV (I only have Freeview) but found a hidden gem in Tales From The Riverbank that featured the River Dart. It brought back many happy memories of holidays in Devon with DH in years gone by. Tonight should be a slightly better choice, although I'll be avoiding the footie - apologies to those who do enjoy it.
I'm undecided what to do today. I could do with going out for some milk but might leave that till tomorrow when the weather promises to be better. As it's Friday there's the usual weekly admin, meal planning etc to do and the kitchen floor could do with a sweep & mop, ditto the bathroom so plenty to keep me occupied. And there's always knitting on the go, the new cross stitch I've started and numerous books to read so I'll not be bored.
@ScarletRibbons - My very best wishes to you and your DH on his cancer journey and for an eventual good outcome.
@RedRuby1231 - You can guarantee tradespeople always turn up early if you're planning a lie-in!
@dp1 - I haven't watched any of the soaps for years and, even when I did, Eastenders was always my least favourite. Hope LO's new milk supply arrives today.
Healing wishes for all the poorly people, a visit from the Sleep Fairy for those hoping for a decent night's rest and the usual hugs where needed or wanted. XBe kind to others and to yourself too.9 -
Morning allIt actually feels mild this morning, well milder than it has been anyway. So I'm taking the 10 tog duvet off and putting on the 7.5 one. Hopefully I don't regret it!Did a bit of ironing earlier and I've just been sorting out chargers to pack, making sure I've got the right one for the right phone, tablet etc. What a faffBed is airing so I'll put the new duvet on later.Thinking of you Mehefin and all the poorlies. Take care all x10

Just popped in to say a heart felt thank you for all your kind words and thoughts. The last 24 hours have not been easy and going forward there will be some bad days but I shall soldier on. The other guys are looking lost this morning and went to where I had left Scooby prior to her being taken away as if to say 'where's she gone' . It brought a big lump to my throat to see it. It's blowing a full gale here straight off the sea so I expect they will be glad to come in later, although Showman certainly was reticent yesterday and with the wind up his tail ! who knows. Scooby was my cuddle horse - and she loved being fussed. Even after she nearly hospitalised me (twice) she still would like her cuddles, especially if there was a carrot or polo in my pocket. The other two are much more aloof. I will miss seeing that head over the stable door waiting for her treats, and I know the next few weeks will be hard as I head to what was Dawn's birthday , missing the two major females in my life.
Sorry to be maudlin - I seem to have dived into self pity whilst typing this.
Take care all. Hugs and spoons to those in need as always ,
Mehefin aka Derek16 -
Well said Chrisca.8
