    I put my Nissan leaf on sorn halfway through March then 5 days later taxed it for a year £0, no problem.

    There wouldn't be, but today is the last day that you can "buy" tax for no cost.
    From tomorrow (1st April) it costs money- a lot of money...
    I want to go back to The Olden Days, when every single thing that I can think of was better.....

    (except air quality and Medical Science ;))
  • Re-opening this thread. I followed this advice and taxed my EV (free) for 12 months on 31/03/2025 at 06:51. Just got a reminder from DVLA ignoring this date and reverting to the original date (a month earlier). Spoke to them on the phone now and they said tax is from the first of the month, so the application on the 31st of March was effectively on 1st March. Is this really true? Can I contest it?

    Indeed, we now get to pay £195 to tax my EV while my wife's Fiesta remains at £20.
