    In that case the UC has been calculated with the correct figures (I'm not going re-edit my posts). I don't know of any exemptions (not to say there isn't one) to make this fair. 
    Agreed. Earnings unfortunately have fallen, regardless of the reasons why, and that is why the Transitional Protection has ended.

    Were the original earnings correct, or would they have been below the AET if there weren't an overpayment?

    No idea if that would change anything, but it's worth knowing the facts as to whether there's any potential line of investigation there.

     Thank you so much everyone I checked google for AET and that explains it. He was previously just over the AET and the deduction is now putting him below.

    Looks like we all got a bit confused there about just what the overpayment was.
    As it was an overpayment of wages then as already said it seems that what UC have done with removing the TE is correct (in law at least).
