Smart Parking charge Spring Street Wilmslow - parking in a restricted zone

I recently received a parking charge notice in Spring Street Car Park Wilmslow for parking in a restricted area. I genuinely didn’t see the signage in the elevated position and I am now aware that papers had been ripped off the pillars. As my bay was not numbered or a different colour (other bays in the area that I passed fulfilled both of the aforementioned criteria) I thought it was a public parking bay. I paid the fee for public parking via the ring go app. When I returned to my vehicle I had the charge (which resembled a penalty notice) stick to my windscreen: I have had my initial appeal to Smart Parking declined and I am debating whether to complete the POOPLA appeal. It would be much less time consuming to simply pay the charge but I do feel that this car park is deliberately targeting motorists. They are clearly waiting for motorists to ‘trip up’. I arrived in the car park at 14.54 and the charge was issued at 14.57. The enforcement officer must have watched and waited until I left the car park. I have never accessed a forum before and it would appear I perhaps should have done this before completing my initial appeal. I am just enquiring if I simply appeal to POOPLA and state my case or if there is certain text/language I should include that will assist my defence.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

and for others reading this thread ... just a reminder that the initial appeal is ....
"This is an appeal by the registered keeper - No driver details will be given. Please do NOT try the usual Group Nexus Trick of asking for driver details in order to get around the fact your NTK does not comply with POFA. As there is no keeper liability then liability cannot flow from the driver to the keeper and thus is an auto win @ POPLA. Please therefore cancel the notice or issue a POPLA code where you will auto withdraw"
