Just a thought. The film applied as protection to the doors isn't still on them is it? Seems unlikely if they have been out to look at them, but when we had our kitchen done I thought a couple of the door were much duller finish than the rest, and then noticed the edge of a film cover sticking up.3

OP have you sought any expert opinion as to whether the variation is inside / outside the manufacturing tolerance that would be expected for this type of product?
Not quite the same thing I know but with ceramic tiles it is normal to mix all the boxes required for the job together at random, so that any variation from box to box is less obvious than it would otherwise be.
